DISTRICT 3-4A Here is a scenario that would create a super district(for volleyball) from an already strong district Pampa drops to 3A and AMARILLO HIGH joins Hereford, Dumas, Canyon Randall & Canyon High in district 3-4A..WOW!!!! Any other rumors beginning to surface out there that you are aware of????

Registered Member Posts: 595 (10/16/09 12:55 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	A&M Consolidated will have two schools starting in 2011 i think and they will compete at 4A assuming numbers stay relative. Rudder (new Bryan school) will go from 3A to 4A this realignment. Also heard Lucas Lovejoy will be 4A next alignment easily If Amaillo drops to 4A I would assume Tascosa would try to as well. Are Palo Duro, Caprock and Tascosa and Amarillo all the same ISD ???? if so they may try to change some bounries to make all 4A that would save huge dollars in travel expenses during district

They will stay 5A the school will file with UIL to stay 5A. But the school that I want to know that will stay 4A is highland park or will they screw with the numbers again. Then there Lovejoy will they move up ?

Registered Member Posts: 768 (10/16/09 1:10 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Stratford, Spring Woods and North Brook from the Spring Branch ISD as candidates to drop down to 4A. Foster might be a candidate for 5A if the Lamar Consolidated School District doesn't alter school attendance zones.

Registered Member Posts: 341 (10/16/09 1:13 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tascosa will probably stay in 5A, but if AHS goes down that would cut their(AISD) travel expenses in half...losing Pampa, would create a district of AHS, Canyon Randall, Canyon High, Hereford, Dumas, Amarillo Caprock, Amarillo Palo Duro.....with Pampa joining the local 1-3A district and Tascosa remaining in district 2-5A, with Abilene Cooper maybe rejoining that district to remain at 10 teams....

Registered Member Posts: 595 (10/16/09 1:28 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The maximum number in 5A will be 245 and whatever the school with lowest enrollment that doesnt petition up will be the cutoff and then usually 4A highest you divide by 2 to get 4A low cutoff... Wondering where the 5A number will be....likely above 2000 this time As for Higland Park the running joke at realignment time is what is cutoff for 5A? Ans. Highland Park enrollment +2 I dont know if they fudge numbers not getting into that because I would assume many schools have in past however I do know that HP is boundary specific school meaning no room for actual growth so enrollment numbers are based upon the makeup of demographics of the actual houses Last Edited By: nakedcrayon 10/16/09 1:31 PM. Registered Member Posts: 260 (10/16/09 7:07 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	With Cedar Ridge (5th Round Rock ISD high school) opening with 9th and 10th graders next year, it will be interesting to see (given their doubled 2011-2012 enrollment) if they are placed as 4A or 5A. If they're 5A, will the 5 RRISD schools be placed with the soon-to-be 5 Leander ISD schools or will they get placed back with the 2 (or 3) Pflugerville high schools and maybe Georgetown? Some interesting combinations are possible in one of the toughest districts around...

Registered Member Posts: 541 (10/16/09 11:20 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	My understanding from talking to several coaches is that Cedar Ridge will be a 5A and in Leander with the opening of Vandegrift(?) and Rouse the last 2 years that Cedar Park and Vista Ridge will drop to 4A, Leander HS will remain a 5A and the two new schools will move up to 4A from 3A. So you could have Leander, Georgetown, Westwood, McNeil, Round Rock, Stony Point, and Cedar Ridge. From there you could maybe go south and pick up Pflugerville again or maybe go north and find Belton? Will be interesting in Feb

Then the next go around was 20 kids lol So there getting better at making the numbers look good lol But as for the sandies they will stay 5A sent a good friend of the team an email and they asked Jan if they will move down. She said no the school is already to send in paper work to keep 5A. I have all so asked Jan in he pas the samething and she said no they will never move down to 5A. But if they did drop below the number they would send in the papers to stay 5A. But the numbers for 4A and 5A keep getting bigger and bigger evertime. But will have to see how it all plays out.

Why we pass 5 or 6 perfectly good 5A high schools (one of them I can see from my second floor windows...) to drive 45 minutes to Southlake is beyond me. Playing at SLC is such a joy, I feel bad not sharing the opportunity with more teams.

Barker has been clear to us that the school and school district would welcome going 4A. The travel costs are in the hundereds of thousands of dollars for AISD in their huge District 2-5A. No way will they ask to stay in 5A - although she would probably prefer it for VB. They have been so successful there.

Annadanna: District 6-5A very competitive district, more than likely SL Carroll will move west again, FM, Marcus, Hebron, Lewisville will pick up a couple from Plano. Carrollton-Famers Branch ISD are all 4A except Creekview.

Registered Member Posts: 254 (10/17/09 8:48 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	We were very lucky to dodge the Plano bullet four years ago, but I still think we'll have to contend with SLC with the next alignment. UIL will put SLC wherever SLC football wants to be, and I'm sure they prefer the toughest possible district to prep for playoffs. They won't split the Plano schools, so imagine this district: Plano East, Plano Senior, Plano West, Coppell, Marcus, Lewisville, Hebron and Flower Mound. Now imagine only 4 of these go to football playoffs. All those booster clubs frothing at the mouth...scary...

Newman Smith the school with the highest enrollment among 4A schools, thus I would expect with 10-15 new schools every realignment that usually end up in 4A and 5A that the nember will be somewhere around 2130 or so...someone with more knowledge of % increase could probably give a better number. so 2130+ with additions of wanting 5A to max out at 245 schools and minimum of 220 schools where is your school at? link to 4A enrollment figures for 4A in case i missed one http://www.uil.utexas.edu/2008align/pdf/4A_fb_enroll.pdf

But 10 min away is 3 to 4 other 4A school they could play. I get stumped how they draw the lines for dist. and why they do it. So it is all just a trip how they plan the dist.
