i was reading a thread about some guy named neil mason and i heard a clap of thunder and then they were gone. maybe a power surge or something, i cant say for sure. that is great that your team is progressing so quickly. i can tell you are having fun. all i can say is good luck to you and your team and have a really nice day.

Are you sure CYC 15 Blue has been together for 3 years? I see 3 players on their roster who played for 14 Blue last year.....and the rest did not (I know they may have played for CYC as 13s, but there has been significant movement between teams since then) and 13s is really a whole different ball of wax vs 15s.

My point was that they have played together in the past or recently, so they are familiar with each other. Where as my team is a new team that has been put together this year and we played our first tournament well against a good seasoned team. We have a lot of work but we are well on our way. We'll see where we are and what we need to work on this weekend. See you there relativeyoungster. How is the power league coming along for the 14's-15's are the rankings posted for the first 2 weeks?

pool aaa next sat will be

rockwood 151 seed 1 11-4
cyc 14 green seed 2 12-0
cyc 14 blue seed 4 11-4 (thanks for the update youngster)
tsl 141 seed 5 10-3

all four of these move to the gold on sun as well as 1st and 2nd from pools
bbb and ccc. these will be the best matchups so far and should make for
entertaining games. you have a really nice day.

Team Momentum 14 Navy played STL CYC 14 Green in pool play and lost 19-21 and 14-19. We then played STL CYC 14 Blue in the Semi's and they blew us off the court 14-19 and 9-19. Partly because they are better then last year and we made to many errors. I think they looked better the CYC 14 Green which is the #1 team. Both teams will be a force at USAV Qualifiers and JVDA Central Zonal Championships. We will play them both again on the 31st of January. Hopefully we will play better against them then. KIVA might get pushed more then they did all last season against both of these teams. They played in the finals of that tournament it will be interesting to find out who won that match.

CYC 14 Green Defeated CYC 14 Blue in the Final of the tournament RealDeal is talking about, 25-20,24-26, 15-11.

That being said, making any judgements, especially on a national level, based on one mid-January local match is absolutely ludicrous. (Trust me, if you had seen 14 Blue earlier in the day, your judgement would have been a lot different). 14s really have variation from match to match......it goes with the territory.

Four Things I know without a doubt:

1) 14s very, very different than 13s, just as 15s is very, very different from 14s.

2) Similarility, KIVA 14 Red will be much, much better than KIVA 13 Red was last year. Everyone that I've ever seen whose last name is Kordes can FLAT OUT coach. And Mr. Kordes, 14 Red coach, is the one they have all learned from.

3) CYC 14 Blue is a GREAT group of girls, who I believe really enjoy each other's company, who are (most importantly) having fun, and getting better (at least in my eyes). 5 of these girls went on a tremendous run last year at Nationals. But that was last year....which leads me to

4) Until you prove it on the court, its all just talk. and Talk is Cheap! And, it being mid-January, its way too early to know how ANY team will end up in July.....

So I was wondering who won the Central Zonal tournament this weekend in Louisville? KIVA 14 RED and ST. LOUIS CYC were both in the tournament so it will be interesting to see who came out on top.
