Looking back at the seeds, I would say USAV did a pretty good job. Out of the top 8 seeds, 6 made it to the gold medal playoffs. The only two teams that did
not make it were CYC Blue and Laguna. I don't know how the other age groups turned out, but for 14 Open, hats off to USAV.

Not that this would be an excuse for CYC Blue, but they were kept from the final 8 by losing to two teams that finished number 1 and number 3 in the final
standings.

No excuses for CYC Blue. we lost a great match (32-30, 18-25, 12-15) to TAV in the round of 12, and finished in the top 12 overall, in my eyes a heck of an
accomplishment. Our kids played hard, played the way we wanted them to, and I've never been more proud of a team.

good job tav. you came out on top. that was a great tournament with awesome competition and you deserve it. you guys looked much improved from earlier in the
year. it was a dogfight as predicted and you are the top dog....till next year. haha. enjoy.
speaking of predictions, in the round of 12, i went 9 for 12. in the gold 5 for 8. realdeal was 4 for 8 but he was way off on 2 of the ones he missed.? ha. i get 1/2 credit for the finals. cyc green and invasion met in the quarter finals. that was because no one went undefeated and that is a testament to the quality of competition on display. as far as everindoubt goes, cal only accounted for 3 of the final 12 and 2 of the final 8. i think you ought to get your travel agent to bone up on midwest destinations like "texas" and missouri. dude. if you want to talk it you need to come walk it. you need to rethink your statement about the invasion coaching. they had their team on a complete roll all year. and it wasnt against 13 yr olds. ha. they prepared their team for the highest level competition and just missed going all the way to the gold. your a homer i can respect that but you cant dis the invasion coaches like that. have a nice off-club-season. |

My question would be why would anyone disrepect the Invasion Coaches who has led their team to 3 14 Open National Qualifier wins (4 if you count their win in
the Northeast Qualifer at 13's) and a 2nd place win in the 14 Open National tournament?? I would say that to accomplish what this team has done, would
take some excellent coaching. These coaches are respected by not only the players, but the parents and the entire HOA region.
My hat is off to these coaches! Congrats on a fun and successful season! |

What does spectator mean? Coach??? I think not. | ||

I think this is a classic case of mistaken identity. VBSpectator is just that...........a spectator and not a coach.
Thanks for your continuing support, VBspectator. |

...all the conjecture, demeaning, etc. on a 14U thread. Will be interesting to follow this group as they progress through the JRVB carreers of their DDs and
actually know what they're freaking talking about.

vballdad43 wrote:Aww come-on ole 43, self-appointed elitist? Tell you what, let's leave friends and I come bearing gifts and advice for not only you but all the eight grade parents as they begin their JRVB experience...and believe me, you've all just barely started your journey....surely not far enough along to be calling out a coach, team, player or OLDBLUE. So here's the gift that will make your JRVB experience much more enjoytable for you and the DD. If you see yourself in just one of the below, sit in the stands, eat your popcorn, enjoy the game, and thank the coach after every tournament... 01. Your total
sum of volleyball playing experience was a July 4th
02. Your 8th grade DD is a can't miss D1 middle…all 5'6" of her.
03. It took a good JRVB coach six-months to undue what you instructed your DD to do the day before tryouts.
04. Your
credentials are that you had an older DD that already went
05. Night after
night you do sprints in the backyard dreaming that one
06. The most challenging part of your JRVB is seeking out other parents that know less about volleyball than you to sit with during the season.
07. Your DD's eyes roll like a slot machine as you critique every practice drill and how she did in each on the drive home.
08. You believe line-ups are set by players' hair color and that the coach likes blondes the best with your DD being a brunette.
09. You're carrying more camera gear than the local news station.
10. Your only comprehension of overlap has to do with the old waistline and belt. |
