Club Cincinnati did not show up for the OVR Regionals on 5/10 as scheduled. Rumors were running rampant but I was wondering if anyone knows what is really
going on? Biggest rumor was that the team had disbanded. If this is so, what happens with their bid to Nationals. I hate rumors so facts would be
nice

Just spoke to club director. She will supply more details after the weekend.
Club Cincy will be fielding a team for JOs. It is hoped that ALL 10 players from the team will participate (as future college players and currently recruitable athletes, this is in their best interests) The coach (the club director's husband) will NOT be coaching the team regardless of what happens this weekend. Club Cincy has a coach to fill in (club director can't because of HS coaching ties) but some players may only want to go to JOs with old coach, which isn't going to happen. Club may have to fill in with other players to avoid USAV sanctions. Request to current Club Cincinnati players: please think about the ramifications of leaving this team before Nationals. It sounds like you're showing loyalty to the old coach, which is commendable, but at some point you're going to have to put that aside and just play, for yourselves, for your teammates and for the college coaches who will not look favorably upon you if you don't. |

wow, it would be extremely unfortunate not to see this team play together again, especially in the post season...what an exciting team to watch. hope it all

As of right now, the team has five players and the coach is suspended. There is a replacement coach on board and the team is practicing, but is looking for
additional players to make the trip to JOs.
Still, it's going to be hard to show well without several of its top players. |

Since CC is a one team club, what are the official rules on adding players to your roster to go to nationals that are not part of your club? |

I think they would have to be released from another club and there might need to be region approval as well

Their best shot is to find a player who did not play club at all this year. Even then, it will be tough to get USAV to approve. They take a pretty strong
stance on that rule. (I speak from experience). Regional approval will not do it.

according to the Nationals check list from usa volleyball. Any on-line changes must be done prior to May 23rd. After that it needs to be done on-site and
accompany a 25.00 change per change and must be USAV region approved. So does this mean even if they find players and their region approves it, they can make
the trip to Dallas and be denied playing?

I would not even THINK about going without getting approval from Colorado Springs. Regional approval is not enough.

I thought the kicker was always that the players you add could not have played in a qualifier (either regional or national) with another team.....

I think there is WAY too much confusion. I agree I would NEVER take players with out prior approval from Colorado. I was just simply stating what was on the
checklist. I hope Cincy can field a team, its an honor to be there.

Club Cincy did not go to AAU's. Any word on Nationals. OVR is in the process of disciplining their coach (going through an appeals process right now).

from second hand, i heard that they will be going to nationals, and:
-they have just enough players to attend -they will have a new coach -they lost both outsides, a middle, and the setter from the original team just to reiterate, this was second hand, no confirmation here... |
