Losing Excess Weight |

Unfortuately during the off-season since summer training/high school volleyball, i have put on seven pounds. It might not seem like so much, but it has definately slowed down my playing speed, as i cant close blocks or transition as fast as i used to, and being a middle this has really taken a toll on my game. The North East Qualifier is coming up, and i really need to drop the weight by then so recruiters can see me, hopefully, at my best. Any tips??

Hey Maniac.....don't do anything drastic....like stop eating. You are going to need energy to hustle out there and show off your talent. Did you grow
taller too? Don't know how you are eating now, but perhaps if you are snacking on the not-so-hot stuff you could go to drinking water instead (to feel
full). Just keep pushing yourself during the games....you may be getting better and don't realize it if you progress is more of a slower pace. Hang in
there.....

Cardio ladies!! Cardio work outs will be miracle workers. We've all heard that running long distances actually makes you slower for volleyball, and this is
true (a middle on my club team use to run 4 miles a day last season and got a LOT slower). But cardio work outs help your endurance and you lose that extra
weight. The fat tire around our middles that is so hard to get rid of even with massive ab work will be reduced big time with cardio work outs. I do taebo
cardio, but you can do kick boxing or run sprint intervals, or cardio circuits. Whatever it is you prefer, but cardio does the trick. I've used it all
summer to get into the best shape i can for college volleyball and I do not regret it!
