Can’t wait to see the book generated from these comments… and the movie should be even better! That said, ok, I’ll bite… Club Volleyball has been a unique experience thus far, and with 3 more seasons in front of us, I only hope some of these recommended changes find their way into this great sport. 1) First and foremost; it starts with the parents. Get the self-centered parents out of the equation and bring back RESPONSIBLE PARENTING. We do these young ladies no good by protecting them from some of the tough life lessons the game of volleyball can teach them. 2) With the previous suggestion as a foundation, it all starts to change for the better. Clubs can start building teams that work hard, respect the Coaches, and deliver excellence on the court. 3) Removing the “ME” attitude and focusing on the “WE” may then be the next step in the road to change. So much of how a club operates is based on the “customer base” they have to deal with, and one can’t help but think that has an impact on the development of each young lady in the program.
Are there more things that need to change? Absolutely. But as we have heard so many times, it all starts in the home.
“The price of greatness is responsibility.” ... Winston ChurchillThanks for reading/considering my comments.RTR

High school coaches? Nope, you have done everything to overlap HS offseason workouts with club seasons as well as finish your seasons at different times.

It must be that they make more money - they rent x courts for eight days instead of 2x courts for four days. But, it is really a pain for everyone. The USAV national are often held in venues that cannot hold all age groups at once. However, they could pick a permanent location that is big enough (I am pretty sure that the Louisville Fair Grounds and Orlando are both big enough, others probably are too). Again, I am sure the reason is that is cost more for USA. But, I have say that it costs everyone with multiple kids a lot more and perhaps USAV could raise the entry price to cover their extra costs. I would love to have qualifier have all age groups as once. The Big South is good for this reason.

The Big South is good for this reason. For reference, AAUs last year used 92 courts on day 1 and 99 courts on day 5 (when the first wave was done).Sooo, they would need a whopping 191 courts. Convention Center space is not the issue. Putting the two waves together doubles the amount of sport court, net systems, volleyballs, officials, and staff. You'd need just under 600 officials there. I'm not sure if that is feasible... Not to mention accommodations for over 1,300 teams.Similarly, if USAV Nationals played everybody at the same time, they'd need 202 courts and accommodations for 816 teams. Not realistic.
