The MAVS 12 team would like to thank all the HOA teams that came to support them during the championship match. The girls were overwhelmed and in awe of all
the support they received from their hometown! We definitely had the larger and more boisterous fan base!! So, thank you to all who came to cheer us on!
We are so proud of the girls. They won Crossroads, Northern Lights and Nationals without losing a game! What a season! Now, if we can only have a repeat next year! Below is a link of the girls on the JO website: http://volleyball.teamusa.org/event/event/341?page_id=1473 |

Facility question | ||||

Can someone tell me what facilities, if any, in the KC area can accomodate eight volleyball courts? |

8 courts | ||||
|
Okun fieldhouse in Shawnee, KS has 8 courts. I think it is a Johnson County Parks & Rec facility.

tigervbfan wrote:...we usually don't post these ranking-type information on the message board. The information you just provided is on the "pay for service" side in an article that JT researches, writes and posts to support his business and family...so out of respect, the information is not posted for free on this board with the exception of "maybe" a congrats to your own team.

Sorry. I am fairly new to the site. I didn't know that is how it works. I thought everyone paid even for the message board. My bad. Okay.

Have heard rumors of quite a bit of reshuffling of players at the 18 level for next club year. Any one have specifics or wish to share?

ConfusedDad wrote:...18s is always a weird year. They'll be players that graduate at semester, skip the 18s JR season and join their college squads for Spring ball; 18s that play JRVB with no intention of going to JRNationals as they want to join their college squads in early summer; players with no intentions of playing in college and skipping 18s to enjoy their last semester of HS and all the dances and social events; and then the 18s that remain and jump clubs to try to put together competitive teams that travel or fun teams that don't. So a lot of reshuffling is normal for 18s. If you look at last year 17s, there were Invasion, Extreme, Impact, Power, that played Open in an attempt to quailfy Open at JRNationals. In the 18s division, only Invasion fielded a true Open team that wanted Open at JRNationals. So by that analysis, which is typical, you have four teams at 17s that will be jumping, combining, etc. to form one Open team.

It wll be interesting to see what teams will form for 2009 club season. The 17s team were very exciting to watch. There was a lot of good competition. It sounds like there might not be a lot of 18s teams to choose from if a lot of the girls are leaving for college early or joining their college teams early in the summer. I want to see how the new 17s team for 2009 club season will form. |
