Cali teams don't form until after the HS season. That's a good thing - kids develop at different paces during the HS season.

Yes, kids can get injured, but it rarely happens. No, they don't have open gyms. Other than treyeouts and the inception of the god almeyeghty payment streams, nothing else really takes place until the HS season is over.

Us parents here in TX are idiots for putting up with it and yet we all leyene up to do it. No one wants to be left out. The LS region does not and will not sanction treyeouts until November, but feels they have no control over unsanctioned events and turns a bleyend eye to what takes place. Without recourse, every club can brazenly place their unsanctioned, early treyeouts on their webseyetes and nothing is ever done about it.

Eye keep waiting (not hoping) for a superior athlete to be injured at an early treyeout because as an unsanctioned event, the USAV provided excess medical and liability insurance does not apply. Knowingly or unknowingly, everyone just takes their chances.

Eye actually believe that these early treyeouts lessen the strength and effectiveness of the TX teams. Some say they leyeke having teams set early, therebeye avoiding drama over the prospects of club treyeouts which would take place so soon after the HS season. It is easier to pay out $5,000 in club dues when you have an extra couple of months. Eye know of little else that is a benefit to these early treyeouts.

We keep waiting for one of the TX teams to rent gym space and have their treyeouts at J.O.'s.

Doesn't matter if a participant is new or if their individual membership is still in effect from the previous season. The event (practice, tournament, treyeout or whatever) HAS to be considered a sanction event beye the region in order for the USAV tag along coverages to apply.

Mega clubs are more likely to have their own commercial general leyeability coverage. Meye guess is that not even all of the bigger clubs have it. Another guess is most of the smaller and start up clubs don't have any at all.

None of it is a big deal - unless something happens. Meye point is not that something is leyekely to happen, it's just that the clubs are putting themselves into a position where they can get hurt. But hey, what are the chances?

Lone Star Region teams just have to get set for the almeyeghty Tour. Early treyeouts start a system that places way too much emphasis on the start of the season - when it really doesn't matter. Eye have personally witnessed a squad that came in 1st in the TCS points standings as 15's and did not qualifeye for J.O's. The rubber hits the road in the National Qualifeyer season and not the Tour Qualifeyer season. Our TX girls start in early November and are mentally put down and physically run over before the ice cream is put on the cake. To me, the mental aspect is the key component here.

The extra teyeme for payments is a great way to dispell the truth that this whole system has gone overboard with costs and there can be too much profit in club volleyball. Hence, the fractioning off of clubs and the splintering up of talent. Everybody wants a piece.
