Torres goes soft and it's effective -- TCA's been digging every driven ball. 3-1 Imi Ike.

Nothing fishy about Herring's hang and bang. 5-5.
Hardin makes it look easy on the overpass. 7-6 Imi Ike. This has NOT been the long-rally, high energy match we expected... |

Carico finds a way through the block. Imi Ike leads 12-10 but coach Mike calls TO.

It's Valentine's day as the TCA setter clamps the block on Imi Ike.
Torres and Herring score back to back. Carico from the right over the block. 15-12 Imi Ike. Now 15-13 on a hitting error. |

Getting the low battery warning. I apologize in advance for when I abruptly get knocked off.
16-14 Imi Ike. Herring gets a rise out of the crowd with a rise of her own. Bai says I can sky, too, and blocks the next one. 17-15 Imi Ike. Hardin on the 31. 18-15. |

Herring a great flying tip. 19-17 Imi Ike. Satele tools the block. 20-17. Are we about to have a great comeback (to be seen on the Asics Rainbows webcast?) |

Congrats to TCA winning 15-12 in game 5 after Imi Ike staved off I think at least 4 match points in game 4, fighting back 31-29. I'm sure John will have a
more in-depth report. Maybe we should all think about starting a computer battery fundraiser for John
Thanks to ASICS Rainbows for their attempts - I'm assuming they made the site to show their 15s team matches to folks back home, not to handle the heavy traffic and volume of Imi Ike and TCA fans trying to watch the championship. Though the website they used wasn't "all that", I'm sure it won't be long before parents can get to see matches clearly from somebody. The chat aspect of the site bugged me, but after awhile, it was the only way to get updated on what was happening. |

TCA and Imi Ike were close the whole last game. TCA had a lead at the side change and even got up by 4 at 10-6. However, Imi Ike fought back though and got to
within 2 at 14-12 but TCA closed it out.
Great game!!!!! |

I have a back up battery, but I have NEVER needed it and left it at the hotel. I carry around my computer and camera on my back for 16 hours and the less
weight I carry the happier I am.
Today, I spent so much time downloading photos without worry and then I saw I was running out of juice. I am so sorry. It turns out the part I described was the lousy part, because after my computer signed me off it got really good! Sydney Yogi on defense and Chelsea Hardin and Bekkah Torres on offense kept Imi Ike in the match. Cassandra Anderson was awesome in the middle blocking and when she did get set. Frederick and Carico got a ton of swings and were superb. Lauren Corp came in for Bai and was terrific on the right. And Stevi Robinson was the best I've ever seen her in the contrasting jersey.

Oh John, just kidding you on the battery stuff! Murphys law just caught up with you. As always, awesome reporting! Thanks for being our eyes and ears. P.S. if we only had those JVDA teams at JO's, what a venue it would or could of been. I miss looking at the younger kids and seeing names like Sting, KIVA, MAVA, ect. And in the older girls teams like, Fusion, SPVB, Team Z, KIVA, ect....It sure felt different this year. Thanks again. |
