Congratulations to Northern Lights 18-1's and 17-1's for getting national open bids this weekend. Special props to the 18 age group in Minnesota for
having all three club teams advance to the open division at nationals! Here is the latest tally for open bids. Good luck to the 14's and 15's this
weekend.

No new open bids after week 2 of NLQ. The list of open teams from Minnesota stays the same. Northern Lights 15-1's came close to qualifying but just
missed with two tough 3 game losses to finish Saturday. A win in either would have given them an open bid.
Now comes the wait for at large selections. The team I am hearing with the greatest chance to get an at large invitation from this area is the 16-1 team from M1's. The at large teams will likely get announced by the end of the week. |

I should mention that I usually write regarding the 15-18 age division. The NL 14-1's did get an open invite with a first place finish this past weekend.

Northern Lights and M1s have teams in Chicago for the National Junior Classic. No surprises but Lights 16-1s and M1 18-1s both performing at a high level.
This is a good chance to see USAV teams against JVDA teams.

Before the JO season, in this writer's mind, the two Minnesota teams that would make a bunch of noise at the national level were the Lights 16-1 team and
the M1 15-1 team. Neither team has disappointed. In the past week, Lights 16-1s were champions at the AAU tournament and M1 15-1s were champions at the
prepvolleyball.com classic. Congratulations to both of these teams as they continue their great seasons and good luck at nationals!
Also, props to the 18s age group. Select 18-1 took second at prepvolleyball.com (tough 27-25 loss in an awesome third game!), M1 18-1 took 3T at the same tournament and Lights 18-1 took 3T at the AAU tournament.
