foot pain |

My daughter has been complaining for almost a month about pain in the bottom of one foot. She does not remember doing anything traumatic to it (at least that
caused immediate pain). She is not one to complain, but she says this hurts a lot. We've had it xrayed but there does not appear to be any fractures. It
does not hurt when you press on the bottom of the foot. Any ideas?? I'm getting an appointment with a foot specialist, but I'd like to have some idea
of what he may say.

It could be anything from Plantar Facitious (sp?) to a stress fracture. You are doing the best thing - going to see the docter. A Podiatrist or an Orthopedic
that specializes in feet is the best bet. X-rays won't show tissue or tendon issues, you may need an MRI.

If your daughter has had her current shoes for more than about 4 months, that might be the culprit. I know that when my daughter has had bottom foot pain, it has been because it's time for new shoes. ( Especially if it is her lead foot aching). Even if the shoes technically look fine, the support may be worn out and compressed. She goes through a pair of shoes about every 4-6 months, so we try to buy ahead. You're right to have it medically checked out, good luck! |

Foot Pain, lots of it! | ||

My daughter caught the virus that causes PLANTAR WARTS! ew The first session, the doctor removed many from each foot. There have been about 4 more sessions of
extracting 2-3 that have popped up. It will not stop until her body builds up the immunities needed to stop the virus. And these little warts hurt. As you
might expect, this has ruined her club season.

Plantars warts are no fun. flip flops in the shower around the pool is your best bet to prevent them and to keep from spreading them. Can you clarify bottom of
the foot? Is it the whole foot, toes, heel, arch, forefoot, or over one particular point. New shoes may provide additional support, but she may need a
different shoe. Doctor is a good choice.

We went to the doctor. Again no fracture. With the doc pushing and prodding, the pain doesn't seem to be on the bottom of the foot exactly, but it seems
to be in the soft tissue surrounding the 4th and 5th metatarsuls. Of course, the doc wants her to limit her activity for awhile, but with Nationals around the
corner, that's not totally possible. We are keeping her off the foot for the next 48 hours or so. Hopefully that will help.

does she have any insole insert in the shoe? have they worn out ? are these shoes she never used before this season ?
I would like to tell you doctors cant always tell you whats wrong they can guess at problems like this. I would tell you to try another pair of shoe's. Try things that you think wont matter you might find the reason behind it. I had a team mate on soccer team that had same kind of problem your talking about . He stop using a type of soap to wash his socks in and try another brand . This worked because his feet was taking in what the washing machine didnt get out. I was thinking no way that could be the reason . But sure was the reason of it. I sure hope you find out what is wrong and good luck to you |

it is most likely stress fractures. my daughter had them and the doctor didnt think anything was wrong until almost all of her metatarsuls were stress
fractures. she was in a boot for about two weeks. make sure you do plenty of calf stretches in case it is plantar fascitious, which is probably the other cause

try the chiropractor | ||
|
My daughter had foot pain several years ago and I took her to see my chiropractor. When he evaluated her I could see the 1 1/2'' difference in the
level of her shoulders which stemmed from her hips being out of balance and these things translate down to the knees and the feet as well. I send her in every
six months or so for a check-up and her problems are usually minor now. Kids hold their adjustments really well. Her feet no longer bother her. Good luck.

I was worried about the stress fracture issue, but we've now had about 6-8 xrays with 2 different docs and neither saw any fractures. The doc yesterday
also used the tuning fork kind of thing (don't know what it's called) and she felt no pain with that. Should I feel at least a bit safe that it's
not stress fractures?
