This is not a knock on Tony in any way...just don't think Neville should be criticised simply for running. |

coach j - The comparison is weak. Neville became a successful vb coach because he played vb. He coached on the national level for team USA. He coached the UW
womens team and currently coaches and trains junior volleyball players in the Seattle area and has for years.
If someone with his knowledge and expertise is willing to take on and represent our junior players in our area, we should consider our youth and our region fortunate!! I suspect that any region would jump at the opportunity to have someone of his caliber directing the helm. Bill is the current national commissioner of coaching, that should help him be able to facilitate our region's needs with usav and be in a position to levy and get things done. This is not saying that those on the board have not given zillions of time and effort and done a great work. They have done well/ The growth of this sport in this region is huge and the board has handled it and taken the sport to new levels in our area. I am sure that none of us can appreciate all that these positions require from someone to give. Here is Bill Neville Resume for those of you who have not seen it. Nev was nominated by someone over at WVBA. I reply to whether you can be nominated if you didn't want the position, I suppose so. He has thought about it,
and he felt he could have a good impact on the region. (not saying anything against the current trend)
I agree that he could be president of just about any region, let alone the entire USAV, but his home is here, and he's doing something he loves. I doubt he's looking for another resume builder...just a chance to impact the sport. Both Tony and Nev are extremely qualified for the position. It's nice to have two qualified vs. a couple dopes. Good luck on your position coach J. I think everyone could benefit from some quicker results. |

My interactions with Tony have been good, though I did use some of the recent posts to poke some good natured fun at him. He's been very responsive on
the beach tournaments and nice to deal with at NWJRS.

HuskyVBFan, If you are a true Husky Fan then you would know that going to the Sweet Sixteen as the Husky's coach and recruiting/ coaching great student-athletes like Tui would be things he would never put behind him. The last couple years probably weren't his ideal, but his track record from the day he got there until that time were more memorable than you give hime credit for. I'm afraid in the volleyball community, we have very short term memories. |

He has put together a solid track record of one-on-one and small group coaching and has put together what appears to be the first successful private volleyball gym in the area.I have actually been surprised that Bill has not either formed a club or had a club base their operations out of his gym. I would not be surprised if that is a move in the near future. |

On a side note, there must be some really good teams coming in from out of state. We finished #13 in 16's and didn't make it into Open this year.
Last year my team finished 11th in 16's and we were a #3 seed in open. Just tells you the kind of draw ECC is starting to have. Pretty cool!

that have worked with him, he is doing a good job. Very few college coaches that get fired stick around, especially when they aren't originally from the
area and did not go to that school. I am sure the last two years at UW were not what he would have wanted, but he has been great for the NW volleyball
community and I expect to see his involvement in junior volleyball grow in the next several years, especially if he is elected to the board.

Wow, the region posted results from two weeks ago! (sorry, could resist taking a jab)
Congrats to WVBA for a sweep of the 14's, 16's and 18's! WVBA 15's had a nice showing in the 16's division as well, taking UPVBC to three games twice, once losing 16-14 in game three. Nice work for a 3rd place finish. PSVBC 16's also caught my eye. That team has really improved. |

btw...if I am elected, that will be one of the things that I change if at all possible. (My first and only campaign promise!) That annoys me to
no end as well! Results could and should be posted within 48 hours.
