Clubs on Probation Getting JO Bid's |
Lead | |
|
Is there any precedent for a club that was placed on probation- supposedly for coaches not having a completed background check- affiliating with another club
and actually getting and accepting JO bids while on probation? Don't the people who coordinate the JO"s check to make sure that clubs on probation
don't skirt the rules? Doesn't that take away a spot from a club that played by the rules?

Loophole | ||

They found a loophole. Kudos for them for finding away around the system. The volleyball club "Fill in the Blank", who has a sanction against them
this year, Didn't form any teams. Instead all the coaches and players are playing for "Other Club" as the number two teams. In the "Other
Club" this year there is a "Other Club" team and a "Other Club - Fill in the Black" team for most of the age groups. Is this right?
Wrong? Who knows, but it is a loophole they were able to exploit.

Let it be noted I didn't name any clubs.
Just looking to get input from others areas to see if there are indeed any other clubs that have done this type of thing. |

"What I would like to see is the Puget Sound website post information anytime there is a sanctions on a local club/s. As a parent this would be
invaluable information to have from somewhere more official than a message board. "

It is definitely something that should be posted on the Region's website, particularly for issues like
failing to complete, or for coaches failing background checks. I can only imagine how parents would react if one of the girls in the club was hurt by a coach
who would otherwise not be allowed near the girls if the proper checks had been done.
Fly on the wall your question is a great one! |

The Intermountain (IVA) Region posts sanctions on their website, although they do not provide details regarding reasons for the sanction (they would probably
provide them if asked...I have not tried). Here's a link for your edification (or if you are another region looking for an example):
