Why does it take so long for the results of regionals to be posted on the Puget Sound Region USAV website? And A bid to Jo's for a sanctioned club that
changed it's name ?

VBClubParent,
Pretty amazing isn't it? Regarding the website, in all fairness it should be noted that most of the club websites in our region are also updated sporadically at best. In looking at those of the big clubs, only NWJRS and WAVA update theirs with any consistency. KJ does update their 18's page with college commitments, and PSVBC's while getting a makeover doesn't seem to have been updated at all in months. Many of the others use the old EZTEAM format from circa 1990. It may just be that outside of a few people, these sites just don't get enough traffic to justify updating. |

Results take time to get. Keep in mind that the region office has to wait for results from multiple sources and venues. Given the choice they are probably
waiting for all the results to come and post them all at once rather than little by little -- which tends to get even more people upset than the fact that they
are not up at all. Post the results they have and they get calls or e-mails wondering where the other are...

The money/guarantee that clubs put up for Prime Time is just that... a guarantee. The region just holds it ($450 per club) so that if a team qualifies and
decides not to go, that is their "fine". No one has lost that "deposit" as far as I can remember.
The actual process is that all the teams that think they might qualify for Nationals in any event (Qualifiers or our Prime Time) has to go through the complete entry process. That means register/apply online and send a check for the entry fee ($900) to the region office, they verify the entry, then send it to the National office. Once a team qualifies, the national office processes the entry. Our region has always financially supported its teams to Nationals... I think they reimburse 100% of the entry fee for teams that qualify OPEN, and 50% for teams that qualify NATIONAL or AMERICAN. That gets sent to the club directly as a reimbursement, because the club would have already paid the entry fee. Hope that helps |

Possible Festival Cities...
I've been told by a reliable source... Phoenix, Salt Lake City, San Diego are the final three candidates for relocation. I think Phoenix might be their #1 choice (that's where I'd like to see it moved). |

For PrimeTime the results were turned in that evening [I will admit I had it easy on that one - Tony Miranda was one of the coaches at my site so I just had to give them to him, but everyone was supposed to turn them in that evening]. For the normal tournaments I was told there is a fairly hefty fine if all of the paperwork was not in by Friday after the tournament. That included the results, the roster sheets and the score sheets. That seemed overkill to me, but that was what I was told to do and everything was in an envelope and on its way by Monday. So, I really doubt that they are still waiting on results from all the venues. My guess would be the webmaster hasn't bothered to update the website
yet. "I know, the horse is dead, but I have this lovely whip..."

Someone posted that Neville is on the ballot for a region position.
I am curious who we have running for the positions. |

Who gets to vote for the region board- dont tell me board members right? Seriously though, who gets to vote?

As far as positions, there are three that are up for voting. Like coach J said, each team in the region is given one vote. Not sure when things are tallied and
posted, but the voting deadline is the 15th of this month. The three up for grabs are:
Junior Director Tony Miranda Bill Neville Chair of Referees: Robyn Filimaua BJ Aea At Large Position 1: John Littleman Kit Singh Jason Mills (Vball Coach J to be exact. :-) Not sure what the at large position is all about, maybe you have some insight on that J. And I don't see why Mr. Neville wouldn't want to run for the junior director position in that the majority of his camps, and personal coaching is focused on junior volleyball. |

Just for the record, I want to make sure I'm clear here...GREAT COACH! I have a lot of respect for the man and his accomplishments. Just puzzled as to why he would want this position. |

Bill Neville might not have juniors on his resume but that doesn't mean he hasn't coached it. After the Olympics juniors would be like keeping Burger
King on your resume. He has also been involved in USAV for a long time and is on the board for the CAP program. Juniors Director doesn't seem that far
stretched. Anyway Tony has a done a great job but sometimes change is good. We will see what happens. If they post it like tournament results we should find
out about August.

Could someone be nominated and on the ballot without them wanting the position?
Change is good. Keeping some of what has been established and giving people a break. It's always nice to bring in some fresh ideas. Neville would be awesome. He and Barb are amazing with the junior players and are involved and show up at tournaments and tryouts. |

Curious - Why would one need to either coach club vb or be over a junior club to be a region director?
Thinking this would be better and keep one from being partial to one club. |
