We are going for the first time in the club division and I can't figure out how it works. I have searched online a lot (both on this site and the JO site) and couldn't find what i am looking for. I would be happy to be pointed to the right place if the answers area already online somewhere. 1) What is the format for club (48 teams suggests 12 4-team pools on day 1, maybe)? 2) How many matches/day 3) on the final day the schedule lists finals. Does that mean that only the teams in the finals play on the last day? 4) if everyone plays on the last day, what time can you expect to be finished with play (for airline reservation purposes 5) anything else a club new to the tournament should know? Registered Member Posts: 103 (05/06/08 3:09 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	My experience in the past is this: 4 team pools in the club divisions. 3 matches a day with the possibility of playing a crossover match. Everyone plays on the last day. It is bracket play. The top teams for that age group will be played a little later. I highly recommend flying out the day after. If you need to fly out that day do it really late. Don't forget the traditional gift exchange before each match. Also the CC will most likely be chilly inside.

On Day 3, the 24 teams play in 8 pools of three to reach the top 16. Challenge matches occur, with the final 8 getting to Gold in bracket play on Day 3.

My experiences this year and last year at the LS Qualifiers there would suggest that the temperature in parts of the CC are probably in the mid to lower 60s. Most people sat around with blankets and jackets for most of the time. Of course there were the usuals in shorts and t-shirts...just depends on how you handle the "chill". Fun? You mean Volleyball is supposed to be fun??

For the non-gold teams, you also play in 1 of 8 three team pools on Day 3. After the Gold Challenge matches, the 8 non-winnners drop to an 8 team Silver bracket. For all others, there are 4 team brackets for each remaining playoff (bronze and flights 1-7). Every team plays at least 1 match on the last day.
