Thank you for the apology. However, I'm afraid you still don't get it. You're taking the stand that too many coaches automatically take. Obviously the wording I used in that post left too much room for suppositions to be made. The situations where we protested were when we were dealing with a coach who was abusing our kid in many more ways than I've already mentioned. The 'protests' during that season had nothing to do with PT or even with kiddo's position on that team - other than being coach's #1 target.
For once & for all- everyone hear what I'm saying! Playing time should be earned! Starting positions should be earned! If you're a #2, 3 or 4 player, there's a reason. If you want to try to be a #1, work harder. On & off the court. Aside from risk of harm being done to a child or injury occurring - once a commitment is made - it should be honored until it is fulfilled. Dedication & commitment are exactly what I was referring to when I said I wouldn't consider removing my kid from a match before it was finished as described in the original post. Oh yes, fatman, the coach is the boss (on the court & as far as the team is concerned). Now I'm done. Say whatever you want to from here cause I can't be any clearer than I've been. 'Nuff said.
