Things to Rember in Dallas |
Lead | |
|
It's been quite a few years since the last USAVJO Championship was held in Dallas. Here are two good tips to remember. If it's 135 degrees outside, the
air conditioning will make it 50 degrees inside so bring something warm to put on later. There is a large group of panhandlers in Dallas. Years ago, many
people paid a man who was standing/collecting money at the top of the parking ramp entrance to the Convention Center. That man wasn't an employee of the
Convention Center so these people paid twice to park once. The ramp to park at the Convention Center goes a bit underground and the parking attendants will be
underground. This is a real FYI, does anyone else have things to add?

Make sure to take the time to visit Kennedy's last motorcade route....and take pics with the longhorn statues in front of the convention center..BUT if it
is hot out...DON'T ride the bulls....VERY hot.....(copper statues I think) BUT MOST OF ALL ENJOY! If you have time and the Rangers are in
town....Arlington is not far away to take in a game one night!

1. West End Market is an area near the Dallas CC that has shopping, restaurants, and vendors of "adult beverages".
2. Consider a team reservation at the Spaghetti Warehouse 214-651-8475. They are very accomodating, with large groups. 3. Jasons Deli 214-821-7021 will deliver reasonable priced box lunches. 4. Chipotle Grill 214-939-5272 is near by too. Walk there and get a monster burrito. |

There is so much todo in DFW. First if you go where Kennedy was shot there is an X on the road where he was hit. All so look up at street light you can still
see where one of the shots hit it. There is all so fair park lots of things todo there. But if you have a car take a 20 min drive to arlington to six flags or
the water park. When in arlington go and see the new cowboys field being built. This such a cool thing to see. I live less then 5 miles from it and seen it
built from the ground up. Take a short drive down the road and see the ball park in arlington lol yes I know thats not the name but I am not going to call it
what they named it lol bush made killing off selling the name lol For the eating part there is so many good places to eat try place that look like hole in the
wall....most of the time there the best place to eat with great food...if you have time look up a burger place called kellers great place and great burgers.
There is all so a place called the hole in the wall great food and family owned. When in dallas take team down to victory park around 10 pm and get them on the
local news...victory park is all so close CC . great places to eat and shop there...Dallas is always changing and there is always new thing togo to. Plus if
you get on a toll road and there is no where to pay dont worrie they will mail you a bill. This something new to north texas. I hope everone who comes has a
great time in dallas and be safe.

$12.50 for seniors and students. Information: 214-747-6660 or jfk.org.
Here is a link to Dart. There is a line of the train that goes just North of Arlington. But beware there is no buses in Arlington. http://www.dart.org/ |
