I heard them chant "Narrows Power". I also heard UPVBC chant their chant. I heard PSVBC chant their chant. None of which was different from each
others team!! I believe each team cheers to keep up their momentum, not to bug anyone.

aly55,
The people who run/operate Powersurge BROKE THE RULES, and found a way around the sanctions that were imposed upon them. Those sanctions preculde them from accepting bids to national tournaments. Despite how it may sound, no one feels that the girls on these teams are at fault- they aren't. The fault lies with a club that should have informed the girls- before they joined- that they were under sanction, described those sanctions, and given the parents and girls the option of playing or not playing for that club! Nothing more nothing less. As for the 7 player comment, that was my way to point out the folly of allowing clubs to pick and choose the rules they want to follow. As for cheers, I think they are kinda cool- you know!! |

aly55 wrote: I never saw the 13s team play, but the 12s team was always "Power Surge Power" that I remember. Maybe I ignored any "Narrows Power" cheers but I think I would have remembered those. I once made a comment about "Narrows" to one of the Power Surge parents and he looked at me like "What in the world are you talking about?" They were, and are, "Narrows" in "name" only - and not the name on the jerseys either. BTW: while I hate the "Whatever Power" cheer in general (just from overuse and the lack of originality around here - I get enough of it during HS season I don't like having to hear it during club now also) it was not that they were cheering that "bugged me", but rather that it was, in effect, flaunting their blatant disregard for the rules and the safety of their kids and everyone else's kids. It was, after all, a MAJOR rule that they broke, especially in light of the allegations with the PS coach.

WVBA 15's played this weekend in16's since they at Far Westerns during 15's regionals. They played well and placed 3rd in gold. Won everything
except lost to UP 16's twice. One match was spectacular and WVBA came very close to winning.

NW JRs 15 Thunder stayed hot won its regional with a straight sets win over Capital in the final. Olympia came in third with a gritty effort through the losers
bracket, winning back-to-back elimination matches before running out of steam against Capital in the loser's bracket final (3 tough sets).
WVBA, Puget Sound, SIVBC, and KJ were all in Reno. |

WVBA def. Island Thunder in 3 to send them to the loser's bracket, then in 2 for the championship. WVBA, IT and Ohana were the most competitive as KJ, PS
and SI decided to sit this one out.
