Six for Nebraska Premier VB

This may not be the biggest total, but it sure is great to see Rick Welch's club return to national
prominence. I salute Rick Welch's dedication to the sport, not to mention his integrity. I need to thank Rick for staying active within the
club scene as he has so much to offer the girls. People who never heard of Rick Welch may see him refereeing at one of the many Division 1 Women's
Volleyball games across the nation, during the Fall season.
Premier Volleyball teams heading to Nationals 12 Gold (American), 13 Gold (National), 14 Gold (Open), 15 Gold (National), 17 Gold (American), 18 Gold (National)

Selfish | ||
|
This is the same Premier that already qualified for nationals at Northern Lights and decided to play in the bid tournament and selfishly take a bid away from
his own region, and his own club 18-2's. Thanks him for that selfish act.

Premier 18's | ||
|
The Premier 181's played for the higher local bid National verses American bid won at Northern Lights. Every team should want to play against the best competition, also - Premier 182's were 0-2 in the bid tournament so they controlled their own destiny and LOST which ultimately had nothing at all to do with the Premier 181's. Nebraska X and Sioux City Elite beat the Premier 182's, not the Premier 181's. Go gripe somewhere else RickP. Talk about selfish!!

If it was for National vs. American, then RickP13's post was way, way out of line, and completely unfair.
Okay, back to the original topic.... |

selfish?? Qualified American...shooting for National Bid
|
RickP13 - I am questioning your judgement to call this team selfish. How do you blame athletes/coaches/teams/clubs for wanting to be as successful as they can be by obtaining the National bid and compete at a higher level? They received the American bid at NL and had a chance to get the National bid in their region. How is this selfish?

4 for Va Elite | ||
|
I know it is only 4, but it is 4 out of their 6 teams. 18, 17, 16 are national bids, and a 15 american bid. The program is in their
third year and has exceeded their goals. Congratulations to Va Elite.

I guess it all depends on your definition of "national prominence" is.......so does that number put them at the top of the region? Does that make them even "regionally dominant"?NN |

Ok, selfish was a poor use of words by me. I agree that every team should want to compete at a higher level, there is no doubt about that. I look at it this
way, if you can help your region representation at the national tournament then why not. There were several teams at other age levels that chose not to play at
their bid tournaments because they already had a bid and they wanted to give another team the opportunity to qualify. Premier - Rick Welch the 18-1's team
are all quality people. Rick has been an Icon in volleyball for along time in this area. I apologize for my poor use of words.
