Has anyone heard if teams will exchange gifts prior to matches at the JVDA championships in late June? I know most teams do this
at JOs and AAU, but hadn't heard what most are planning to do for JVDA.
Thanks

In an effort to reduce costs for families, no gifts will be exchanged at the JVDA championships.
(I couldn't resist) |

I think that decision should be made by your team or your club. After all it is a "gift", if by chance your opening opponent does not present you
with anything. But a good question as this is the initial event.

Great attitude Tonsof fun! I agree. As for JO's it cannot be considered by most to be a "National Championship" if the best teams aren't
there to vie for the title.

VBinCP wrote: Actually it IS the only National Championship. If some teams choose not to attend then so be it, but its a fact. Last time I checked, all the JVDA clubs are USAV members. If teams chose to stay in their own corners of the world and play the same teams every weekend, then its not a NATIONAL championship. I don't care which way you choose to go, but just because some teams aren't going, it doesn't mean its not Nationals. How do you know you're the best unless you compete against everyone at Nationals? |

How do you know you're the best unless you compete against everyone at Nationals?Thank you for making the point. The best teams will not be in any one location this year. There will be no National Champions. |

No sense getting into a "my dad's better than your dad debate"....lol History backs up my point of view.

ACTUALLY....from the AAU website......

I believe the AAU's have been around longer than the other group. So the other group started calling their end of year tourney the National Championship.
Kinda like wrestling and boxing, lot's of different associations with champions.
