I know this is the girls forum but I'm sure some of you would like to see the guys play, if you didn't get to last night.
Go to www.espn360.com to watch it, not sure how long they will keep it available...

men's uniforms | ||

While watching the men's championship game I was asked why men can play in baggy shorts and loose shirts but women play in skin tight uniforms. I'm
sure there is a good reason but I just couldn't come up with one. Of course, I've only been around the sport for about 14 years. Anyone have a good
answer?

I was at the game - which was great, by the way! Game 2 in particular was full of drama and lead changes. The spirit of the crowd was contagious - for BOTH
Penn State and the Waves. We were neutral observers so cheered all the great plays. My personal favorite player is the libero for Penn State from Puerto
Rico. He is only a freshman, so hopefully we can watch him for a few more years. I swear he was horizontal as often as he was vertical.
Regarding the uniforms, I happened to look carefully at them and noticed in particular that the sleeves on the shirts were quite fitted, not loose. The fabric has plenty of give and I am sure the shirts are fitted to prevent accidental drag on the net when hitting, etc. If we want to talk about uniform oddities, I find it more intriguing that half these guys don't wear knee pads. Ouch! |
