ktwo1 thanks for the props to TVC 14-1 (proud dad typing here). Having played Northshore VBC 14-1 in a best of 5 match TVC winning 3-1 and playing NKYVC
14-Tsunami in two matches TVC winning both in two I still couldn't definitively tell you which one is more deserving based on head to head play. We'll
see Northshore again this weekend.
Personally I would think at least one of those OVR teams should secure an At-Large bid not only based on their Qualifier play but possibly by looking at the
strength of the region by the number of National Bids (Northshore VBC 14-1, Maverick Teal 14-1, TVC 14-1 and Blackswamp VBC 14-1) and American Bids (CVC 14-1
Black, Mizuno Cincy Classics 14-Red, and Lakeland Ice 14-1) not to mention the JVDA affected Team Z 14-Orange.
Hindsight being 20-20 it would be nice to have seen where TVC 14-1 would have ended up on Torami's chart if it would have competed in at least one open
qualifer. Based on performance against the OVR's teams that competed in Open qualifers it may have been a little different week in Dallas.
Congrats to the teams that took the leap and secured Open bids and good luck to Northshore or NKYVC securing an At-Large to represent the OVR 14's.

Victory ELITE had already qualified but Victory PVS had not so yes it is Victory PVS that got an at-large bid. Pretty impressive for two 14s team from the same
club to both qualify in Open.

Wow... I'm shocked.
I suspect that some of the teams that had higher NQ finishes must not have elected to apply for the at-large. Unless maybe Victory has a killer record against qualified teams... I have no knowledge of that. No sour grapes for 'our' team, as we decided to stick with National (my vote didn't count :/ ) but I sure wish there was some visibility into the process. Anyway, congratulations to -all- the Open teams!

Thereby reinforcing the USAV "spend the money to qualify!" mantra. It points out what a huge impact it has on qualifying to (a) attend multiple
qualifiers, and (b) choose them carefully. The average number of NQs attended by qualifying team is significantly greater than for those not qualifying: 2.0
vs. 1.3.
I'd love to see the USAV/JVDA split healed, but only by USAV doing something to reduce the need to spend money to qualify. Unfortunately, the way for that to happen is for more clubs to go the JVDA route, so that it hits USAV in the pocketbook.
