I think maybe the LSR commissioner was "strong-armed into submission" by at least one large influential club. If he can't make his decisions
stick, then I think it's time for a regime change...weak leadership!!!

The change to allow American qualified teams to participate to try to improve their bid is the proper decision - but, it should have been made that way in the
first place.
tresmarias...based in what I posted in the LS HP topic...exactly how do you propose we make changes...the board elects itself!
Fun? You mean Volleyball is supposed to be fun??

mutiny, military coup, whatever works. . . just look at the LSR website. Really says volumes about the commitment of the powers that be. |

Qualifier Bids vs Region Bids | ||
A team enters regionals with an american bid.... They qualify again american... would the bid continue to trickle down? How far down?Bids earned at qualifiers supersede bids earned at Regionals, if they are for the same division. If a team receives an American bid at a qualifier, then receives an American bid from their region, they are obligated to use the bid from the qualifier. The region can then award the American bid however they want (since it's up to each region to determine its process for awarding bids). One would assume that the bid would just trickle to the next eligible team that wants to attend. If they qualify National what happens to their American bid? From the qualifier manual: If a team earns an "American Club Division" bid at a National Qualifier and earns a Region's "National Club Division" bid, the team must take the "National Club Division" bid. The "American Club Division" bid will go to the region re-allocation pool to be awarded by the Events Department. |

It's really a matter of what's good for the few not being good for the masses. Of course these teams want an opportunity to up their division and so it
only seems fair to let them play. However, if they win a national bid, it is a negative for the region as a whole because in effect the region loses the
bid--on less LS team at JO's.

per Feb newsletter: Although only current Board members present at the meeting may vote, nominations can be made by any Lone Star Region member. Not only can
you nominate someone for a position on the Board, you may also wish to appear and make a presentation on behalf of the nominee. The only thing that I ask when
making the nomination is that you also provide noti- fication, so that time can be made available for a presentation. If you think that one of the Region
incumbents is not properly representing you and our Region, now is the time to speak. Nominations should be mailed (NLT March 7, 2008) to: WILL VICK,
Commissioner REGINA DANIEL, Secretary Lone Star Region, USA Volleyball 914 South Hill 1608 Canyon Oak Alvin, TX 77511 Schertz, TX 78154-3660 Fax (281) 824-0220
