For the Club Divisions, as long as it takes to fill the fields. In some cases teams will decline an American bid, especially at 12s and 13s, due to the cost and time required for the little ones and it does reduce the old summer vacation, a price some families are not willing to pay and for good reason at that young age. That requires the Region to call the next team, or next team, and so on or the Region declines the bid and sends it back to USAV who must then call the next region in line and start the process over. It may take a couple of weeks before the American Club field is finally full and the process is over.

We will try and run the tournament format in the same lines as how Omaha does the open divisions. Open teams will play best 3 out of 5. Depending on number of teams in each age we will format the tournament the best we can to work for everyone. Tournament info is on the HOA website www.hoavb.org. Go under juniors , tournament and then calender. Congrats again to all the HOA teams making it to nationals. We sure have a bunch this year.

Per the Power League Manual, the winner gets the National Club Bid and it will trickle down no lower than 4th place. ...American Bids, the region has two, have historically been awarded to the top-two finishers in Regionals and trickled down among the regional competitor as necessary until awarded. ...what I'm hearing is, due to the MAVs 15 quaifying at Open, their vacated bid in American is now being given to a Extreme 15-2s in Power League (?) instead of Kansas Networks that finished 3rd and ahead of them in Regionals? ...only been around JRVB for 15-years but am still wondering where Hank pulled that one out from. Heck, in the 14s, Raider Nation declined their American and it trickled down to KCPower the next highest finsiher in Regionals(as it always had) so why the inconsistency in trickle downs among the ages? Can't believe what I'm hearing and that Kansas Networks -1 team is getting the shaft....can you confirm? If accurate, we might need new and consistent leadership over at HOA....plus I hate to change my perfectly consistent and accurate qualifying post of teams that have qualified.. We do not know the number of teams the HOA Region will be guaranteed to participate in the Club divisions." "Power League top finishers in each age division will be offered the region's bid to the National Club Division. If the HOA region receives a fourth bid in an age division, this bid will be awarded through the Power league." JS: This should help your case. Basically what it says is that Club Division bids from the Region are awarded through the Regional Tournament. That's how it use to be before Power League. With the advent of Power League, the next paragraph was added splitting off only the National Club bid to the winner of Power League, the other two American Bids remaining with the Regional Champions winner and second place OR to trickle-down until awarded. The key phrase confirming all this is "if the HOA region received a fourth bid in an age division, this bid will be awarded through Powerleague. What the equates to is National Club to Power League; Two Americans to Regional Tournament Champs 1^st and 2^nd place; and should the Region receive a Re-Allocation Bid then that bid goes back to Power League teams. In that way, both regional competitions Power League and Regionals, award two bids BUT that only comes into play if the region receives a Re-Allocation which is not the case in Kansas Networks being passed over for Extreme 15-2. This is from the HOA manual as to the process of this trickle down, and this is what the region has always followed since the Power League creation: Important Note!!…. A large number of HOA teams attend National Qualifiers. It is possible that a Power League bid winner could qualify at such an event. In such a case the JOVC bid previously won in the Power League by that team will 'trickle' down to the next unqualified (for JOVC's) finisher. Bids will, under no circumstances, be offered to a team finishing less than 4th Place in the Power League. In the event that a Power League JOVC bid is not accepted by any of the top-four teams in an age division, the bid will be re-allocated to the appropriate age division of the HOA Regional Championships. HOA Region encourages the top four finishers in all Power League divisions to notify the Region Office of their interest in attending the JOVC's. This will expedite the bid process if an opening should occur. In the event that HOA does not receive two 'automatic' bids for JOVC's, the Power League winners will receive priority for the first re-allocated bid received by HOA. Any additional re-allocated bids will be awarded via the HOA Regional Championships.

There 3rd place in Regionals, as runner-up, got them the American Bid....but the fact that we're even having this disucssion in an indictment of the lack of clarity and documentation in how HOA awards bids.

If the top 4 teams in Power League already have bids (which was true in the 14's division) then they go to the next highest finisher at Regionals. I feel bad for Kansas Networks 15's because they have a great bunch of kids, coach's and parents that this procedure didn't work out in their favor. They did beat Extreme 15-2 in 3 games in Power League, but were 5-5 overall vs. KC Extreme's 6-4 overall record. This protocol has been in place since the Power League was first started some 6-7 years ago and it would be unfair if the Region were to go against what has been set in writing for this long. I applaud the HOA region for actually posting all the info and procedures on their website. Most of the regions don't post this information anywhere on their website.

Where did they pull this one out of? If I am understanding this correctly a 14's team that got a bid at regionals decides they do not want to go and it trickles to the next team at regionals, but a team that qualifies in open at a qualifier and gets second at regionals makes the bid go to Power League? Who and when did they make up this crazy rule? I have never heard of this. I want to be a fly on the wall when JZ from Kansas Networks 15's talks to Hank or whoever made up this.

Power League winner gets the National Club, I've already posted the reference from the manual....it's very clear. Two American Clubs are awarded at Regionals to the first and second place teams or trickled down at Regionals until awarded...I've seen it go to 6th and 7th place teams. If not, why ever play in Regionals....that's the reward or goal for teams competing. The trickle down your referencing is for ONLY the National Club bid in Power League that can trickle no lower than 4th should the previsous teams qualify at an NQ. If not awarded, the bid goes to the highest finisher at Regionals in the age division and the American bids trickle down accordingly among the teams competing at Regionals since the National Club bid takes precedence over the American Club bid. At no time has an Amercian Club ever been awarded to the teams competing at Power League with this exception.

I can now see how HOA supposedly got there transferring the American Club bid back to #4 in Power League at 15s...but still have never seen it done and do not agree with the thought process. HIGHLANDS (NATIONAL) REGION BID FROM REGIONALS X. SOUTHWIND (DECLINED AMERICAN FOR REGION) 4. MAVS -2 (AMERICAN) REGION BID FROM REGIONALS (5 - 4 = 1 REMAINING AMERICAN BID FROM REGION) Four teams tied for fifth at Regionals per the HOA Website.... (MAVS-3; INVASION-1; KCSPORTS-1; KANSAS NETWORKS) Bid awarded to MAVS-3. Can't tell why as I wasn't there. Was there a playoff? Did all four teams have their paperwork and money turned in to HOA for entry into Nationals before Regionals?

The 12's coach cannot figure it out either and did not really get a good answer. He was told they have 24 hrs to give the bid out so was a coin flip in the works or did they do rock paper scissor ? Dang it I bet we went rock instead of scissor . uggg We teach our kids and coaches to always go sissors. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA When you tie for 5th do you turn your money in? I got nothing on this one.

I got nothing on this one. ....$$$ and paperwork, and more paperwork and then some paperwork use to have to be turned in by a due date set by HOA....but it was well in advance of Regionals. Nationals has a corresponding due date in their manual somewhere but I don't have to worry about that crapola anymore...YAY! Usually, there's quite a few Re-allocation bids at 12s as the little one's and expecially thier family's don't want to spend the money or summer going to JOs. If they really want to go at 12s, just keep in touch with HOA.
