at Far West. Qualifed teams in RED:
At least one bid to be awarded with key match-up being KJBaden and Southwest Illinois. Prediciting neither Gold Cal nor Vision to finish 4th which would allow both KJBaden and SWI to qualify. Sport Shack playing well enough to break into the Top-3 and earn a bid in other pool. Predict (now) that only one at-large coming out of Far West. Losses by two qualified teams has opened the door for other teams at Far West and slammed the door on teams not at Far West and seeking an At-Large....but that's why the games need to be played!

Vision and Epic were favorite to come first and second in pool 2 in So-cal but neither made it pass third spot. In fact Vision were favorite to win the pool
but came last. So, anything could happen. I won't be surprise if KJ Baden, Southwest and Sport shack all qualified.
Austin Junior heavy favorite to win it all but didn't even made it out of pool play. Is AJ just having a bad tournament or they finally have real competitions? |

I suspect that KJ and Sports Shack will qualifiy looking at the pool layout, but that they will come 5th & 6th.
Now that the qualifier season is just about overm I think it is time to speculate on the seeding for Dallas...prehaps we start on Monday? |

...as "revised" predicted after Austin Jrs.
left the Gold Field very early at Far West, two bids were awarded at Far West including yours truly "dark horse" before the tournament started in
KJ Baden and a second team Sports Shack which will teach me never to bet against a California team!

When will these at large bids be announced? Lone Star regionals are set for this weekend and from past regionals teams that received at large bids had time to
pull out of this tournament to allow more teams chance to qualify.

Does any one remember (or know) the format for the 17open division at JO's? It's been a while since my other daughter was there and I've forgotten.
Tried my darndest to pull it out of storage, but it just won't come.
I know they play best 3 out of 5, but if I remember correctly, aren't the pools (# of teams in each pool) larger and played over 2 days? 4 pools of 7 sounds larger than I remember, 7 pools of 4 doesn't sound large enough, and no other mathematical formula makes sense. How many teams in each pool move on? Thanks! |

Last year it was 4 pools of 7. Best 3 out of 5 games. 2 matches per day. If I remember correctly top 2 in each pool move to Gold Bracket finals on 4th day. |

There are 4 pools of 7 teams, so the girls play 6 matches in their pool over 3 days (2 matches a day). Then the teams are ranked for Bracket play on the 4th
Day. The ranking goes like this:
7th place => Flight 4 6th place => Flight 3 5th place => Flight 2 4th place => Flight 1 1st Place gets a bye into Gold Bracket (there will be 8 teams on Day 4) Still on day 3 2nd & 3rd place (8 teams) play a cross over match to see who advance to G | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
