Not Stars | ||
|
Was not meaning to put Stars in that catagory, I know how they finished at TCS...if you noticed the second comment didnt have them included as non tour teams.
I was using them as a in between when in my opinion they are a higher level team than the other two. I re-read my post and realized what you meant but I didnt
mean to imply that rather that they were sandwiched between teams that I was surprised a bit about, although I have great respect for the Teal coach at
Tornados. We will see this weekend how our Lone Star teams do, in both Open and Club Division although I think Tx Elite Black (who we have played) may very
likely win there pool as a 4th seed.

Does anyone have any idea when the LS region will post top 10 teams. Also congratulations to the Woodlands Stars Gold team for securing a JO bid last weekend
in Denver.

Looks like TT 14 Mizuno is on fire beating a tough SA Xtreme team in second round of 14 Open at Big South 25-10, 25-12. SA Xtreme played them much tougher in
TX Champ Series, and will have to win next two to advanced. Texas Tornadoes is on mission, go Tx Princess.
Skyline Roshambo should get either #1 or #2 out of their pool and advanced to final 6 for 3 bids as Northern Lights has lost first two in pool on day 2. Good luck to all Texas teams bring home the bids to the Lone Star State (and hopefully Lone Star region) |

Looks like TT Mizuno has a bid and it's anyone's chance in the other gold pool as Skyline, TCA and SA Extreme are all tied at 1-1

what happens to bids | ||

Looking at he Lone Star regional in a couple weeks, I was wondering what will happen to the bids in the open division if 4 or 5 of the teams that have already
qualified finish in the top 6. If AJ mizuno goes to Baltimore and qualifies this weekend that will be 6 teams competing in the open division at the Lone
Star regional that will have qualified and the bids only trickle down to number 6. This should be a great tournament for all to watch and any team that
qualifies in this division will have definitely earned it.

Hopeful for bids to come to texas from NEQ in the 14 Open
With Austin Jrs, Houston Jrs,Skyline, Tx Assault, Victory PVS and Xtreme all in Open it coupld make for a 3 bid qualifer although things will have to fall just right. TAV also but they have secured a bid already. Good luck to all texas teams this weekend. |

After Day one pools all teams have advanced to Division 1 pools with possible exception of XTREME 14 Balck who is in challenge bracket for right to go to
division 1. However it will b ehard to get all the Texas teams to final pool round with many of them playing each other with a strong team above them.
Vicotry PVS and TAV will have to battle #1 overall seed Gainesville Jrs to advance. Skline and Austin Jrs are in same pool as well. Texas Assault and Premier both have to beat two strong teams out of Puerto Rico who happen to be in same pool in this round. A good Houston Juniors team will have its work cut out after losing to #1 overall seed and being 4th in its next pool. If XTREME can win challenge bracket they will advance into Victory and TAV's pool eliminating at least one Texas team by the next round. Curious as to anyone thoughts to the field's strength. |

to TRV-Elite and West Houston Hazard who finished 2nd and 3rd in theSouthern Cal qualifier and won their respective bids to the big dance in Dallas.

While Hazard did finish 3rd in SoCal, they did not receive a bid as only 1st and 2nd were awarded bids.

the first place team had already qualified so the bid trickled down to 3rd, plus if you check their web site it also shows they did earn a bid

With only one qualifer to go, and NO Lone Star teams in the mix for a bid at Northern Lights at the 14's level it is time to focus on the Bids earned at
regionals May 3rd and 4th.
Lone Star is given 4 bids (1 National and 3 American)...looking at the list there are 61 teams that are attempting a bid (many have not finished paperwork and may be cancelled out). Here are my top 4 picks for bids with the following caveats... 1. Assuming no one previously qualifed can participate, although they may allow a team with American to try to improve (TRV and AJ Navy are on list to participate with American bids secured). 2. A few teams (2-3 teams) are in the mix for possible Open at Large Selection although I doubt it will happen for any of the teams. 3. Seeding is roughly correctly in place to allow for these teams to meet in the semis. My thoughts... National Bid: SA Xtreme American Bids: AVA of Texas 14 Asics, Houston Juniors 14 National and Southwest 14 Asics My next 8 in no real order that depending on seeding or playing really well at the point in time they need to are AP 14 Black Mamba, Texas Elite 14 Black, XTREME 14 Black, W Houston Hazard 14B, Woodlands Stars 14B, TX Tornados 14 Black, Willowbrook Red, Maverick 141 My dark horse that many havent heard of because they dont play an expensive schedule with Qualifiers and TCS but play really well is HIT VBA 14's. They beat us this past weekend in the finals of a tourney and look to be ready to spoil some teams who are not ready for them, with an OH that was pounding the ball. They are on the list to participate but like 30 or so teams have not gotten paperwork done as of last week. I expect that depending upon drops for failure to have paperwork in place and those already securing bids dropping as well it should make for at least 48 teams for 4 spots. Thoughts on this age group for Lone Star anyone? |

NC I with you about the national bid. I feel S A Xtreme will clearly win this bid, they are the best of the rest unless AJ blue or TRV can participate in
the regional. As far as the american bids, After watching a lot of 14 vb this year I agree with you about Houston Jrs. and SW Jrs finishing second or third.
If Houston Jrs hadn't lost one of their best players (moving up to play on 15's team) they would probably have qualified in the Lone Star qualifier.
As for the third bid I believe it will come from one of the following teams
