I don't think AC is a big issue this time of year. The region has lost several sites this year for the above mentioned reasons. To answer the question,
SWIC IM has AC, Lindenwood and the new Belleville West do not.
Relative youngster: you were right about the Reno seeds SWI 171 took second in their pool losing only to Epic 16-14 in the third set. |

AC? We don't need no stinking AC!!!!!!! I am sure the region have busted their tails to make sure that four team pools are the norm, but with the aforementioned prom factor and various other special requests for AM or PM pools and trying to put certain teams at the facilities that they provide to the region, the scheduling gets ugly. Unfortunately the number of total matches in the pool increases by n-1 matches with each additional team, where n is the total number of teams in the pool. Anyhow. Good luck to all in regionals. |

Here is a question:
When you have two five team pools---would you be more efficient with court usage if you made it a pool of 4, and two pools of 3--with the 3 team pools then playing crossover matches (1 v 2, 1v 2 for going to gold, 3 v3 for seeding)? Instead of taking 2 courts all day, you would take one court all day, and another court half a day. and everyone would play 3 matches, instead of some playing 3 and some playing 4. Looking at the schedules for regionals, I think this would eliminate all but maybe 2 of the 5 team pools. Since the region, for all intensive purposes, doesn't allow 5 team pools anymore, our teams just aren't use to them. If you really wanted to get radical with this idea, you could take a single 5 team pool, combine it with a 4 team pool, then make 3 3 team pools, with appropriate crossovers... This is NOT a criticism of what the region is doing, although I'm sure some will take it that way... Just asking what the alternatives are.

Interesting proposal. That would be quick and fair and rather than putting five teams on the death march to Bataan, they can play and be efficient about it
too. The whole reason for getting rid of the five team tournaments was to keep the timing under check. I know people were not happy because it definitely
hurt the earning potential of the teams hosting those tournaments.

18's have 3 - 5 team pools....guess it's a good thing the Region isn't doing that any longer since the last match would be scheduled for 5 pm and
teams will have blocks of 2 hours to sit at various times during the day... With girls leaving early on Saturday, and some staying up late Friday, it will be
interesting to see who really shows up to play....

Not trying to be the party pooper but the girls just need to be smart. Yes it is Prom but that doesn't mean you need to be up till 3 or 4 in the morning.
Especially when you know you have to play early on Saturday. I know at least 4 of my girls have prom on friday and hope they will be smart in their decision
making for the after prom activities. Last time I had this situation a player didn't even show up the next day. PLEASE NO REPEATS!
