I believe that means that there will only be two at-large bids up for grabs after this weekend. Does anyone know for sure if this is correct? Also, does anyone know exactly how they are awarded?

According to VBEye, who has done his best to figure it out in years past, these are the primary criteria: 1. Average NQ finish 2. Record vs. top 1/3 of Open applicants 3. Wins against the field of qualified teams.

I have kind of adopted the Premier 14 Gold team from here in Nebraska. I personally don't know anyone on the team, I just like the way they play. If they don't qualify at NL, they should have a reasonable shot at an at-large bid. They have already beaten at least 2 teams that have qualified, ASICS Mavs and Texas Assualt, granted the MAVS have beaten them 3 out of 4 times, but they are one of the two teams to have beaten the MAVS this year. They open at NL with Victory Elite, so if they win that one, the will have beaten at least 3 of the teams.

How is Victory Elite seeded 3rd in their pool behind Northern Lights 14-2 and NKYVC. I have no affiliation with Victory but did get to see them play this weekend. They are much more deserving than a 3 seed. I also checked the other teams' results on SUTP and it just doesn't make any sense. They have a better winning percentage than several teams seeded ahead of them and have also beat several qualified teams where other teams have not. It seems to me that the Northern Lights club must have some sort of influence over the seeding at this qualifier. They have fine teams but the seeding is swayed in their favor in every age group at this event.

Premier 14 Gold 2. Victory 14 Elite 3. Colorado Jrs. 4. Northern Lights 14-1 It may not end up in this order but I think this will be the top four. Good luck to all. By the way the seeding does look rather suspect.

Just because a team has a better % does not mean they are playing the same level of competition. If you are playing your age group vs playing up you may have more wins or a better % but are you the better team? What about OPEN vs CLUB? If you have something to compare apples to apples put it out there....and 1 common opponent probably isn't justification. Lets see the "evidence" or just prove it on the court.

They are tall (as in really TALL), athletic, and very good.

I just checked a few of the team's results on SUTP and found it odd that Victory was seeded so low. I had a chance to see them in Lone Star last weekend and they are a quality team. Feel free to check out the results on your own and form your own opinions. If anything, Nike Six Pack and NL 14-2 are benefiting from playing weaker teams. Neither has really ventured outside their region to play better competition. Here is who I think will qualify this weekend: 1. Premier 14 Gold 2. Victory 14 Elite 3. Colorado Jrs. 4. Northern Lights 14-1
