Bids | ||

Do the Extreme 17-2's get a bid out of Power League b/c the 4 teams ahead of them (Invasion, Impact, Extreme 1, Elite) all earned open or national bids at
qualifiers? Or is there some kind of limit as to how far a Power League bid can trickle down?

I believe that Newpost is correct. The Power 17 coach called HOA on Monday and was given the same information verbally. But until you see it written down. . .
A call to HOA by the involved clubs may be the best option. HOA and USAV may be busy on other items, judging by some other recent postings. Nuf said.

I think you have it correct. 7 teams in 17's going to Nationals? That might be a record or something in the HOA region. Also I think you know that vbreporter. If you have his email you might have him contact me. I have a couple questions that could help him with his missing Garmin.

Are HOA bound to regional results for trickle down bids and re-allocations? 17-2 Extreme
were the only other 17 team to make gold round of any NQ's beside Topeka Elite. They are the highest ranked team left without a bid and finished 1st or 2nd in every Regional tournament they entered. (Beat by 2 open qualified teams and Elite) To give a bid to a team that didn't qualify for power league and no higher than in the twenties in a NQ doesn't seem right. Also why only to 4th in power league? |

the start of the season. You're question or position now is to forget the defined system that everyone knew going into the season and now set up a
post-season system based on other factors...ain't going to happen.

What has everyone upset | ||

Everyone is upset over the accusation that the so called writer from prep volleyball wrote about the power team throwing a game. Accusations remember. No proof. Tread lightly defamation of character. Everything you read on the internet is not true. The accusation is Tawa's opinion. He is really ticking me off. |

My daughter was on the court against KC.... There was no doubt in her mind what happen. It is time for the coach to stand up and take responsibility. Put an
end to this once and for all.

Which team was your daughter on? Was it the team that loss against power or the team that won against power? Because I feel the views are being swayed by this scathing article. |

After visiting with a couple of college coaches and a club coach that saw the match. I was not getting any positive feedback about Powers actions. Now I was
not watching but a lot saw the match in a negative way towards Power. I hope this is not true but one college coach I have visited with said "no doubt
that that game was thrown on purpose"

I can't believe that would happen. The players and the coaches would never risk their reputation for something like that. |

One more thing. I watched a lot of volleyball in Minnesota. There were some teams that without a doubt should have won all their matches but these very
talented teams just didn't win. People will believe whatever they want to believe. People choose to believe the negative instead of the positive.

kctall60 wrote: kctall60, I apologize for encroaching on a Kansas/Missouri thread. You seem to be sure that KC Power would never do something like this, yet it sure sounds
like it probably happened, and I'm not just taking John Tawa's word for it. John owns this site... and I'm sure that he carefully thought out his
decision about whether to publish this article or not. In his mind (and in the minds of many others who were there), there is no doubt as to what happened.

I have no doubt. There are many examples through out history where a person has been accused of a wrong act. Later one finds that the accuser had some sinister motive. Let's think logically. You are telling me that a team intentionally went up to Minnesota with the idea to throw a game. Now let's not forget that the hotel rooms cost $400 for the 4-day stay and food cost an estimated $360. Let's not forget gas for the car cost about $62 for the one-way. The parents of the players I know work hard for their money. You are telling me that you believe that the girls threw the game knowing that their parents paid nearly $850 for the trip. Their parents wasted $850 so that they could throw the game. Think about it. I think some haters out there. If you know what the term means. |

Since when do the players care about how much money their parents "waste".
Nowadays, rarely do kids have a clue about how much it costs to pay for an entire club season. |
