Great Job Torami!!

You are exactly right about going to qualifiers! I wish our team could have afforded to go to more of them!! Our region just does not have quite enough for us. They would not let us play up. They are expensive, but my gosh the experience the girls get is priceless!!

Torami, thanks for additional insight and observations on Open/Club comparisons. It gave me some additional perspective to the quizzical thoughts I had after our girls came in second at MEQ Club and walked away with nothing because their was ONLY 56 teams (not the 64 needed for an additional American bid) and looking over at the Open courts at some teams the girls had played against and beat and wondering if they could have won one of the 3 out of 16 Open Bids or been in contention for an At-Large bid.

Well, I guess I'll eventually understand this volleyball world better at some point! Thanks again for your posts and give me a holler if you'd like any info from up here in Ohio.

With only qualifier left it looks like most of the field is set. There is only one qualified team at Northern Lights so there will be at least two more teams added to list. Anyone want to guess who will rise to the top at NL? I think that Preimer and Northern Lights' chances are good.

The initial post is updated to include all of the FarWest results; looking forward to seeing what happens at Northern Lights! I think it will become reasonably clear which teams deserve the 2 at large berths, but who knows what will happen.

I've updated the initial post with my rankings that now include all the NQs. With many teams playing several qualifiers, I changed my percentages to give 60% to the best finish and 40% to the average finish, as thought teams that had one great finish and several not so good were overly rewarded. Didn't change that much.

Austin Juniors 14 Mizuno just won a 16s tournament this weekend. They are now looking for 17's teams to play before Dallas.

I think they should be ranked higher considering that they beat the MAVs in Denver.

That would require a subjective evaluation that I decide not to make at this point, other than in the ratings of the NQs themselves. I Agree AJV is a great team that could do really well in Dallas. I think I maybe need to rate Xroads a bit higher than I have; that field has proven to be very strong. If I did, it would also push Sunshine up, which is likely also warranted. I'll play around with the NQ ratings a bit and see what happens.

I don't know about Uno. They are not in the top five teams ranked in the region. I believe the current great lakes regional ranking is: Lions 14-1, Fusion 14 Black, PowerHouse 14-1, SPVB 14 Red, Ultimate 14-gold, SPVB 14-Elite and then Uno. All of these teams other than Ultimate are JVDA but you gotta think they would look at the regional rankings, don't you think?
