Bids at Northern Lights | ||
|
And .. how many bids are likely to be given out in each division?
My quick glance at a couple of divisions shows that many teams have already qualified. If those teams take several position in the top 6 (Open) or the top 4 (Club) .. the leftover bids go back to the at-large pool, right? |

vb529 wrote: Open bids not used will go back to the "At Large" pool. Club is a bit different. If a team playing Club has an American bid and takes a National, the American bid will go back to the reallocation pool. If a team that has an American bid double qualifies for an American spot, that bid will trickle down. Unlike Open that goes to 6th place, trickle down bids in Club go no lower than 4th place. |

How Many FL teams going to Northern Light DC?
I saw a list somewhere that indicated several of the 15 O and up teams in each age group have already qualified - gonna make it tough for the rest. I don't think the list had any info on 14O's having previously qualified |

we are supposed to hit the 70 on wed. First time all year, we are very excited. Weather for the Q looks nice 60's partly sunny.

Oh bummer--my daughter was hoping for snow!

yikes | ||

If she wants to see snow - tell her to come visit in January! We are sick and tired of it and looking forward to a bit of warmth - Although this IS MINNESOTA
- anything can happen. Hey DC...are you coming in?

60's sound great | ||
|
After the level of snow over that past (2) months, the 60's sound really nice. Looking forward to a great time in the Twin Cities. Staying downtown this
time so evening meals should be really nice too.
BTW, with the number of teams playing that have bids, this should be a nice warm-up for Dallas for several teams...same is true for the Far Western...Have you seen the fields out there in Open? |

Unfortunately I cannot make it---will you kindly check in on my player! She is "AN ORPHAN". The usual suspects will be there that you know from years of tournaments. Wish we were meetin' at the pub again--that would be fun--but we'll all have to hook up in Dallas (hopefully). And if you can save a snowball in the freezer---take it to her please! When we moved to FL from Idaho---Grandma brought a cooler full as carry on one February and we had a snowball fight upon arrival!
Good Luck to all the Teams in the NLQ!!! |

Your daughter should be careful about talking about snow when she gets here. We have been teased with warm temps only to be pounded with more snow. Now
finally...dare do I say it...it looks like it may stick around. Right now we may not take kindly to a vistor wishing more snow upon us. We have been locked up
for too long. We need sun!

That's why we host the AAU Nationals---maybe we should do that one in February instead of the Vegas Classic----as I'm sure everyone would come to the
greater Mickey Mouse area in February when temps are inviting---rather than sweltering down here in the middle of June----OBVIOUSLY no one asked us our
opinions on the whole ordeal!
Ok--if there is snow---her name is ()*(^&**(^& and she will be staying at the &(%^(*)(%%^ Go on down there and toss some snowballs at her---but odds are--she'll be the one making spandex angels in the snow already! |

The funny part is she will probally have a heavy jacket on with temps in the 60's and I will be breaking out my shorts

Seeds...Interesting | ||
|
Very interesting seeding for 17's. Skyline 17 Ro...a 4th seed in their pool. Maybe it;s not the same team that played in (2) other NQ's. Couple of
other 2nd seeds...Sat will be exciting.

Skyline Roshambo Val is there second team, although not as strong as the first team, and is capable of playing in the Open division although with the ability
level of this field they will likely not make it to the to 2 spots in their first pool.

Thanks for the confidence! Skyline 17 RoShamBo Val did finish tied for 15th (or so) at Lone Star in 17 Open. While that was not as good as they had hoped, it
was respectable given the strength of the field. I think ranking them 18 out of 19 teams was a bit harsh, but they are the only 2 team in open and they
usually get no love. I am sure they will hold their own up in Minneapolis. Remember, they can also finish 3rd in the pool, then win a one game crossover
match with another 3rd place team to stay in the gold for Sunday. It will not be easy but don't count them out just yet.

did the seedings not put into account the lonestar results? there are many texas teams that are VERY low.

We received an email that stated the computer seeding would be done on Sunday April 13th so that means lone star finishes were not taken into account.
