1. she loses her voice for at least week after (yes she is a loud one on the court).
2. her eyes get red and weepy, so much so we take out her contacts for a week after. The optometrist said that may be from the 'dirty recycled plane air'.
3. but the worst is missing yet another day of school because she feels 'dizzy, stomach ache, headache' etc. No fever, just general run down. We did make sure she got plenty of SLEEP during the Baltimore qualifier. I also harp on fluids (goes in one ear and out the other). I know it is not lack of food or nutrition. Even with all these precautions (nutrition, fluids, sleep) she still came home from school early today because she was not feeling well. She slept a couple additional hours, and even passed up 'boyfriend-of-the-month chat time' to go to bed early.
This does not happen at the regular, local, two-day tournaments.
Any magic tricks to stay well while traveling and playing hard?
