C attended, it was a combination of all the above. USA Volleyball had reps., supported by college coaches, club coaches, and anyone else able enough to hold a clipboard and blow a whistle.

The ranking process is clearly defined and documented on the HOA Website in the Ranking Section where you sort the teams. They've got it "hidden" under a titled-link called "RANKING INFO" in BIG, BLACK letters. Probably they won't answer the e-mails because it's posted already...but you're correct in they mean little except for teams playing regional tournaments.

...if you're really bored and sit down and do the math with a couple of examples, the information provided is pretty clear on how the rankings are determined.

...if you want to stay at a higher level and just look at the concept, what it says is you darn well better beat teams your suppose to (lower ranked teams) in straight games.

...if you're a pretty good team and apsire to be ranked highly, you darn well better stay out of tournaments where the competition is weak.

But you are correct in that it doesn't come down to very basic elements like we beat Team A, therefore we should be ranked higher which I'm sure frustrates most parental units.

We should actually applaud the HOA Region Office for developing this method; taking time to enter every set played in the region; and posting both the method used and the rankings.
