How Long does it take AES to rank an event? |

I know this is probably a very hard task but out of curiousty does any know how long it takes them to rank an event and get the schedules up before a
tournament. It is something maybe I should ask them directly but thought someone might have insight into it. It just seems that events aren't posted
until a couple days before. Thanks.

Better than it was . . . | ||

I remember when we would not get schedules for events until the coaches meeting the night before the event started. So, to get a pool schedule 48 hours or 72
hours or a week in advance is huge!

Can we agree, however, that those days are now long gone? Many of us remember having to sit through the coaches meeting......wade through the throngs of people
crowded around the cork board for updates.....trying to figure out which site we are at tomorrow..... heck if we are going to stroll down memory lane, I still
remember rotary phones. How in the world did we survive without cell phones? Sure, it's a valid argument to a point but given the advances of the structure
of large events today, getting info sooner rather than later is more the norm and expectation, not the exception.
More to the point of this thread are you sure AES is the group doing the 'ranking' for the event you are thinking of? I think in some cases AES may do the seeding and in other cases AES may simply be the vehicle driving the output but not necessarily the preliminary input. My guess is like any business AES likely has different levels of service. It can be all inclusive or it can be piece-meal to a certain extent. I would refer to the organizers of the event for your answer on that. I've been to AES tied events where the information was out a week ahead of time and I've been to AES events where it was much closer to the start date. |

I know this event is being seeding by AES. I am not really concerned with the timing as much as just really actually curious as to how long it does take to
seed events. I think it is something that we sometimes forget that it could be a difficult task and take longer. When I first started coaching we usually did
not receive schedules until a couple days before, but now most do have them out by the Monday before especially with a traveling tournament which this one is.

don't seedings come from the region office? qualifiers from USAV?
I know here in TX if you play in the north TX region you will know way before a tourney in the LS region...
Life is tough... even tougher if you are stupid!

Yes, region-centric events are seeded by the region. Whether it's the office or a panel of people probably depends on ones region. Qualifiers have
different seeding procedures. I believe USAV seeds Open but the Club divisions are seeded however the qualifier chooses to do it. I may be incorrect about that
but that is my recollection.

Well according to our region website it states that AES is doing the seeding for our regional championship, unless they wrote it wrong.

Does the website state that AES is doing the seeding or do they state AES is doing the scheduling? Unless your region requires clubs to input results to AES I
think it would be a very tall order to expect AES to do the seeding (accurately) for a regional event. My guess is they are doing the scheduling but the
seeding is being done by your region personnel.

THat would make more sense, but it did say they were doing the seeding.
But my math brain would still like to know how long it takes to do all that? |
