If I am reading the results correctly, the region earned two more bids this weekend. Both at NEQ. SWI 181 won the 18 Open and TSL 161 took 3rd in 16 Open.

I would also like to echo congratulations to Rockwood 161, SWI 181, and TSL 161 for qualifying Open. I especially want to offer huge congrats to Rockwood
151 for winning the Big South 15 Open Qualifier.

The Gateway Region was well represented this past weekend in Baltimore. Congrats to the teams that qualified.
The Kirkwood 161 team also brought home the Silver Medal in 16-Open. Congratulations girls! Although we were a bit shy of qualifying, I'm extremely proud of how we finished. Your tenacity in overcoming a very scary & emotional trauma… watching a teammate be taken away in an ambulance in obvious respiratory distress, was more than most teams could handle. At a time when we were still in the hunt for the Gold you displayed great heart battling for the win while also battling your emotions over your struggling teammate. The Silver Medal in 16-Open is something to be very proud of… I'm even more proud of how you all showed that volleyball means very little without the involvement of all of your teammates! Thankfully everything turned out okay and the following day you were able to play for the Silver Medal with your teammate cheering you on from the sideline. What a weekend! What a tight team! I'm proud to be your coach.
