The location is somewhat off of the beaten path, so that will be interesting to watch.

The Houston area has room for improvement on the Club side of the game. As far as results go for the High School season, Houston area 5A schools haven't won much at state in recent years.

The expectations at TCA are high.

Perhaps by raising the level of expectations in the Houston area, other Clubs will improve. TCA won't be for everybody.......just the nature of the business. If High Schools are given better talent to start the season with, they might have a better chance of accomplishing something in November.

If Nneka and Chiney had been able to play Club (volleyball) and the team would have had a bit more luck in regards to health / injury, then Cy Fair might be State Champions. Other than Cy Fair last season and Stratford years ago when Michelle was still there, Houston area High Schools have struggled at the State level for a while.

Coaches?
That is a good question. Different philosophy or something else to change things. Does TAV have better coaches or something else that puts them in the upper echelon of Texas Clubs? Sine TCA will likely be hiring local coaches, then there must be a plan to get them onboard with the TCA way of doing things.

Talent Pool?
Kingwood is on the Northeast side of Metro Houston. There might be a few players from the West (Katy), Northwest (Cy Fair area), Southwest (Sugar Land) and Southeast (I-45 South ) sides of Metro Houston that will drive to Kingwood, but I doubt that will be a significant number. Perhaps some from the Woodlands will be interested in addition to those in the immediate areas of Kingwood - Humble. So my expectation is that the Clubs that draw heavily from the Northeast and North will be impacted the most.

I realize that some will drive a good distance if the desire is really there. HJV - 18's had at least two players
from the Kingwood area and another from Bryan - College Station. TCA might be able to have similar drawing power, so we shall see what happens.
