I just heard from a parent on TxT 16 Silver that their coach and TxT choose not to enter the National Division for Regionals without discussing it with the
players and coaches... Interesting decision by the club.
Sorry they won't be competing against all of us, we enjoyed palying against them this year.

Can someone confirm the number of bids for the LS region...per the USA website this is what it states for each age group, but on the HJV website it lists
different...
USA Webside: 12's 1 national 2 american 13's 1 national 3 american 14-18's 1 national 3 american HJV Website: 12's 2 national 2 american 13's 2 national 4 american 14's 1 national 3 american AJV Website: 15's 1 national 3 american 16's 1 national 3 american 17's 1 national 3 american 18's 1 national 3 american |

oops...that was last years.
It is my understanding they are NOT done as they are still allocating Open at large bids and then there will be more reallocation bids. Are
the other websites updated for this year? You would have to assume USAV would know how many bids they were giving out?

a) not have qualified previously for the Jr. National Tournament in the Open or National Divisions. As per the region (email sent on 4/16), teams with an American bid may participateThree days before the tournament and the ruling changes again???? |

I think maybe the LSR commissioner was "strong-armed into submission" by at least one large influential club. If he can't make his decisions
stick, then I think it's time for a regime change...weak leadership!!!

The change to allow American qualified teams to participate to try to improve their bid is the proper decision - but, it should have been made that way in the
first place.
tresmarias...based in what I posted in the LS HP topic...exactly how do you propose we make changes...the board elects itself!

A team enters regionals with an american bid.... They qualify again american... would the bid continue to trickle down? How far down? If they qualify

Qualifier Bids vs Region Bids | ||
A team enters regionals with an american bid.... They qualify again american... would the bid continue to trickle down? How far down?Bids earned at qualifiers supersede bids earned at Regionals, if they are for the same division. If a team receives an American bid at a qualifier, then receives an American bid from their region, they are obligated to use the bid from the qualifier. The region can then award the American bid however they want (since it's up to each region to determine its process for awarding bids). One would assume that the bid would just trickle to the next eligible team that wants to attend. If they qualify National what happens to their American bid? From the qualifier manual: If a team earns an "American Club Division" bid at a National Qualifier and earns a Region's "National Club Division" bid, the team must take the "National Club Division" bid. The "American Club Division" bid will go to the region re-allocation pool to be awarded by the Events Department. |

It's really a matter of what's good for the few not being good for the masses. Of course these teams want an opportunity to up their division and so it
only seems fair to let them play. However, if they win a national bid, it is a negative for the region as a whole because in effect the region loses the
bid--on less LS team at JO's.

Do they consider a regional is the same as a national qualifier???

per Feb newsletter: Although only current Board members present at the meeting may vote, nominations can be made by any Lone Star Region member. Not only can
you nominate someone for a position on the Board, you may also wish to appear and make a presentation on behalf of the nominee. The only thing that I ask when
making the nomination is that you also provide noti- fication, so that time can be made available for a presentation. If you think that one of the Region
incumbents is not properly representing you and our Region, now is the time to speak. Nominations should be mailed (NLT March 7, 2008) to: WILL VICK,
