Unofficial Visits this summer |

My turning into a Junior daughter wants to take some unofficial visits. How does one go about arranging for these? Just email the coaches and say something
like "I'm going to be in your neighborhood, can I come by for a visit? Thanks...

By all means!! The summer of her junior year is the best time to take a road trip to schools that have been showing interest. We took a family
vacation/college road trip the summer after my daughter's junior year and had a blast!! The youngins stayed with relatives or swam in the hotel pool while
we made our visits. We definitely emailed the coaches and they were thrilled to arrange the times to correlate with when we would be in town. It is amazing
how fast time flies by and there are so many schools you will want to visit so that you and your daughter can get "a feel" for what you want in a
school and in a program. Even though our road trip was in June, she received her offer from her favorite that August. A coaching change stalled things a bit,
but in the end she accepted and signed her NLI last month. I wish, however, we had gotton started earlier, like you, because she missed a lot of school
visiting other schools. Encourage your daughter to do most of the communication, however.

Agree with Mom7....and we even did a few visits without telling the coaches because the schools were close enough but dd wasn't sure if the school would be
a good fit. So we did the generic school tour to give her a chance to get a feel for the school --- we were definitely looking at college fit first and then
volleyball program. A couple she liked and a couple she didn't like. The ones she liked we went back on an "unofficial" visit.
