What lineup did the coach use tonight? SHe run a 5-2 or a 6-1? I have heard she ran a 6-1 which means she kept BEST players on court and didnt play her "favorite" player. SO yes with this lineup I would expect her to win!!

It is an EASY win when you use the BEST players!!!! Just think what could have happend at Pearland if the BEST players were on the court!

I wasn't at the match, but I have to think Watson must have called in sick tonight because noway RR wins in 4 with her at the helm. I mean the relatives of the RR player had Westwood winning in a sweep or with a gift of 1 win to poor Round Rock. 35 out of 36 district wins and enough said.

WW, don't be too down. Zora will have this team ready for the playoffs. And I feel sorry for the team who has to play them on Tuesday.

Does RR improve the quality of play by running a 6-2? Is the defense better? Is the offense better? Are the best players on the court?

I posted my opinion on this last year and, strictly because I hate to see individuals called out, I will restate it here (with some refreshed data). Directly to the above...Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes.

Elaborating a bit: From my observations, (both against Westwood and other tournament sightings) Round Rock is better when they run...

Club certainly helps for a variety of reasons and club success can help coorelate to district success. As for talent in the district - depends upon if the talent ends up where they are supposed to measure the success.

Eye would hate to think of the comments if this school had a losing team. Relatives and "favorites", oh the travesty of it all. Eye can only imagine the poison spread at the dinner table. Civil discourse has its place, but Eye guess not in the People's Republic of Austin.

Simply said, that is the coach's perogative.

Remember the story where Mom's DD was a top club player but quit HS ball after consistently being shut down by the hs coach (I couldn't even figure out why cause that kid would be a starter anywhere around here except maybe, big maybe, La Costa Canyon). It isn't worth it. Have your kid play club and vote with your feet.

And leave that poor soph alone!

Again AustinVBFan, if you are so unhappy with the Coach, why don't you show some intestinal fortitude and meet with the coach face to face? And if you knew anything about RR volleyball, you would know that Watson has run a 6-2 with Miller and Barnes many times the past 2 or 3 seasons depending on the opponnent. Your statement that commitment to a college should guarantee playing time over the back up setter who won't be playing at the next level is ridiculous and...

Cy Woods, Lake Highlands, The Woodlands etc are so bad that a Regional Final between Round Rock and Westwood is that likely?

Relating to this district only and not just this season - - do you believe there is a strong correlation between district success and club participation /success? What role does the high school coaches participation in club contribute to the success of his / her team, if any?

Or is it just talent and the luck of the draw of the kids who live in your district?
