Skyline 18 Roshambo is another team that is already qualified in 18 Open at the Far Western Q. That makes 6 teams total out of 32.

Four teams competing at Far Westerns in 16 Open have already qualified in Open: Vision, Central Cal, TAV Asics, and Asics Willowbrook Red. Three teams in Open have qualified in the Club Division: Force, UPVBC, and Alamo Kaepa. At least 2 Open bids will be earned at FWQ, leaving a possible 3-4 "at-large" bids available in 16O.

Currently there are 3 At Large bids in 15-Open

Northern Lights this weekend has a 20 team field and 5 qualified teams, all of which may finish in the top 6.
0-2 At Large bids could be added

Far Westerns has a 27 team field (unofficially, they havent updated teams list in a while), with 4 Qualified teams in the field.

0-1 At Large bids could be awarded here.

Potential total At Large bids for 15s could be 3-6.

In 18 Open, it looks like there are 5 already qualified teams out of 32 total at Reno this weekend (Epic Ozh, Golden Bear, Long Beach, Nike NW and Vision).

After NLQ, I believe that there are 23 qualified teams in 18 Open.

It would be surprising if more than 1 or 2 teams get bids at Reno with this strong of a field and with the trickle down only going to 6th place.

So, with 28 teams total in 18 Open at JOs, does that mean somewhere between 2-4...

Off the top of my head i know Central Cal, Vision have Open bids and UPVBC, Force have Club bids.
Any others im missing?

It looks like after Northern Lights there are 6 at large bids in 16's (22 of 28 bids taken) depending how many are taken at Far Western that number could be less. Am I right about that? How many qualified 16's teams are in the Open field at Far Western? I can't seem to find a list of teams entered.

On the Girls page, http://usavolleyball.org/juniors/08_gjo.asp, you'll see the section in the middle titled 2008 Qualified Teams. It gives you Open, National and American bids earned through April 16th (including those in Natl and Amer earned through regions).

USAV site has a qualifier results section. Pretty easy to compile list from there.

When it's complete, the list will be on the USAV site. Until then, you have to compile it using each of the NQ sites.

I don't remember the specific thread, but the complaint centered around the use of the word Olympics when you define it as part of the Olympic Games - every 4 years, international competition, a variety of athletic events - and then use that definition as it applies to JO's - every year, national competition, only one athletic event. The complaint was that it wasn't a true Olympics in the strictest sense of the word. Oh well!

Two so far in 14 Open, with two NQ's left to go. I believe that is the way it will end up: only 2 at-large bids, which quite frankly, is far too few.

From what I can tell, there will be at least 2 in the 18 Open-could be more depending on what happens next weekend in Reno.

How about the other age groups?

With Lonestar only giving one bid to Woodland Stars in 15 Open and only 2 bids awarded at the So Cal Qualifier for 14 Open, who are some teams who have a chance of getting these at large berths for JO's?
