I have a daughter who will graduate in 2009. In the fall we took an unofficial visit to a college, watched the team, met the coach. We sent in video and
began an email correspondence with the asst. coach. He was very positive and encouraging and in early Feb. said that "they" wanted to come to our
town (3 hours away) to watch her at a practice. We sent our practice schedule and then . . ....

Thanks so much, everyone! You've confirmed what I was thinking, but it's so nice to hear from experienced people. I'll have my daughter call the
coach as soon as dead period is over. Thanks again!!

You absolutely should ask. The relationship had moved into something regular but now you are not sure. Not only should your daughter ask, but she needs to be
a little assertive if the answer is generic. One point of refinement...I would not mention camp as the reason you are asking this. Camp is a revenue tool for
universities. Rather, you should say that your daughter is narrowing her list to those who are REALLY interested AND have something to offer. If they cannot
confirm a top 1 or...

CALL THEM ask coach where she stands with them...most coachs will tell you I havent heard of one not telling them....But remb keep the others schools in mind

KRHA is absolutely right! I remember being this shy with coaches and then learning from other parents to come right out and ask. Coaches are constantly use
to this question and you are right to not want to waste your time going to a camp which may already be done with their 2009 recruiting. If the college gives
the message that they are deciding between her and another, go to the camp. Make sure your daughter does the calling.

By all means have your daughter call the coach and ask if they are still interested in her and where she is on their list of potential players. Most coaches
will tell you where you stand, i.e. top two, top five, etc. We found most coaches were open and honest about their interest in my daughter. Don't hestitate
to ask if they think she should attend their camp.
