HS Freshman-E Nwanebu named 2009 Dalllas Morning News Newcomer of the Year

High School Freshman Ebony Nwanebu from Irving MacArthur was selected by the Dallas Morning News as the 2009 All Area Newcomer of the Year. She was also selected for her district's 1st Team all district and named the district MVP. Ebony was a player on the TAV 14 Asics National Championship Team this past summer. And she played on the High Performance USA Select Blue Team that won a bronze medal in the Youth International Division. What a great year it has been for her. For the 2010 Club...

The Bishop's School

Just want to give some recognition to a smaller school in San Diego with a great volleyball program. The Bishop's School was just knocked out of a chance to play for the Div IV State Champs by La Jolla Country Day. The girls put up a good fight and definitely have some great talent on their team. What is the average playing area for the out of bounds area at juniors tournaments? Is it a 5, 7, 10 foot collar outside of the court? Also do your DD's prefer playing on a hardwood surface or a sports court surface?

My daughter has played on a prominent SoCal club "one" team that has made JO's three of the last four seasons, but got bumped down to a "two" team this year as the result of an influx of talent from another nearby club. Three admittedly solid players, but not stars, came over from this other club and some of the girls who have been (also admittedly) average players on this "one" team got moved down.

Now I know this must sound like sour grapes -...

looking at the california state championships, im not quite sure the best teams r still playing. are all the teams going into tonites matches deserving? yes of course but...... just sayin.......

with that thought in mind, r there championships in other states that truly tries to bring the best teams together at the end of the year? in other words, what state has the best state championships. jt, ur thoughts?
